Nigel Pearson Appreciation Thread

I would go as far as to say that if Pearson could get us promoted this season then he would have exceeded anything O'Neil acheived.

micky Adams got us promoted when we were in administation but never gets any praise or mention .

Adams is history, he got us promoted in second even though we had the best squad in the division (because the transfer ban and player wages stopped players coming in or leaving) he then couldn't keep us up and people lost any respect as he built a dad's army team (probably not his fault, the new board after admin had no money).

He was better than most managers that we had in that bad period though

Doesnt convince me.

He does`nt ? what a hard task manager you are, I just hope you let him hang on to his job a bit longer, give him 6 more games please, changing now could spoil our momentum, am not proposing to tell you what to do of course it`s just a plea !

Nah! The monkey took us down.

Very true, I thought the bloke was fantastic for us in difficult circumstances. Very harshly treated by the moronic booing of most of our fans, happy to say I wasn't one of them.

Yes he's history but Portsmouth's squad was far better than ours, they had Yakubu for crying out loud! lol He only lost respect from the fools in our fanbase, don't forget when the boo boys forced him out we were in the top half of the table. Until now, we haven't seen the top of the championship since then, just want to get that straight.

Easily the best.

As for Pearson, he's done a great job with us so far but there are tougher tests to come. One thing that has been impressive is our home form, given our struggles at the Walkers in recent years.

I'll give him 3 more games, just for you.

He seems to have turned us into a cleaner team. We are bottom of the discipline table

No surprise to see Sheffield United top.

As for Pearson, while he did very well last season, and we've started this season in encouraging fashion, there's still another 40 games to go.

Let's see where we are at the end of the campaign instead of comparing him to O'Neill after every win.

You are probably right actually. It would be such an achievment. We are probably only saying this because it is unlikely though...

Very unlikely - but not impossible :D

I agree wholeheartedly with this thread, great manager, I knew nothing about him before apart from him keeping Southampton up and us going down, was a refreshing change from all the .rap we have had, Peter f......g Taylor started the rot,Holloway (should be in the place of the same name) finished the job with some dross in between. Then along comes Nige what a breath of fresh air, actually looking at players long and hard before buying, getting rid of the crap from other managers left overs, is not into buying players that he has worked with in the under 21 Set up like some other useless bastar. that nearly broke us, how that t.at has the nerve to still be in football sickens me.

Anyway NP keep up the good work.

3-0 tonight bye the bye

I really. really enjoyed Micky Adams' time at the Club and Martin O'wot a bloke' time even better ... but for me Nigel Pearson has set out to make the Club his Club, his team, playing his way and I don't know what it is about the bloke but I feel he has got the will to take us wherever he wants ... okay some time to build and some time to gather strengths, but the guys such a genuine article (and one we've needed for too many years now). I just hope Nigel and Milan both see the journey to the promised land in the same vision, because if they do we might just get there in style! The best managers/teams in any of the leagues are those that commit and work hard as a collective and not as an individuals ... the core of our squad and Nigel Pearson ( ... and yes, even Milan) all say that to me at present ... and it's been an awful long, long time since I felt that about City ... and it's also long overdue that we started to make some real big noise at the Walkers to support the up-rising thats really happening! ... Blue tinted spectacles? Perhaps, but I'll make no excuses ... I really, really do love Leicester City Football Club ... and Nigel's brought that feeling and desire back to life for me!

NP is a top geezer. :) Great work for our club so far, and the team spirit hasn't been this high since MON. Top notch!

After reading threads like this it's no surprise the posh game turned out to be a banana skin...

Pearson's still learning about the tactical and personnel improvements that will be needed in order to mount a credible promotion challenge.

Some players have handled the step up well, while others are struggling. In addition, some of the summer signings have adapted to life at the Way more quickly than others.

The side should be regarded as a work in progress. Judgement on it and the manager who is creating it should be reserved for a while yet.

I knew we were all thinking Leicester were going to be too good for Peterborough
