Benji Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Bit cheeky considering we replaced a Shah due to his terrible fielding. But as a decision alone, no way should they let him have a runner, if he's not fit enough (EDIT: maybe 'fit enough' is a bit harsh, but physically trained to last 50 overs just like a footballer is trained to last 90 minutes) to last 50 overs then that's his fault. It's part of the bowler's job to mentally and physically tire the batsmen. Sprained leg yes give him a runner, cramp? no chance. Great ball by Anderson
Bert Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Looking good so far then... Two of the best one day sides in the world we've played and done really well. I'm sure there'll still probably be the monumental fuck up somewhere along the line though....
Sparky Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Some superb performers today , Shah , Colly, Morgan and Anderson in particular. As bert said you do expect a crash at some stage but im gonna enjoy it while i can
Corky Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Absolutely delighted we're through, and also to see South Africa crash out first round AGAIN on home soil.
Ultra Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Three one-day wins on the bounce - all against quality opposition. Surely this run can't last?
Edmund Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 Im gutted. Only caught part of the Sri Lanka game and missed South Africa. Typical. At least there playing well. Roll on New Zealand tomorrow.
Milky Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 Crazy conditions. Thank fook we don't need a result on this crap.
Edmund Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 Crazy conditions. Thank fook we don't need a result on this crap. Terrible start but like you said the pressures off so all good.
Milky Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 Terrible start but like you said the pressures off so all good. Both balls were totally unplayable, so what can you do.
Edmund Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 Both balls were totally unplayable, so what can you do. Walk and be replaced by the next batsmen Anyway 13-3 now. Normal service resumes.
Porky Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 Yay..the 100 comes up after 29 overs! Don't think I've ever seen such a pitch.
Edmund Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 Not actually a bad score considering the start. Lets hop the pitch helps us now.
Porky Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 lol Oh deary me....they're making it look pretty easy to bat on!
