bakedalasker Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 I have not been on here for while so to save me going through the whole forum can you tell me how you think it is going so far? As far as I'm concerned your progress comes as no surprse. I never felt you should have gone down, still trying to work out how that happened. We even let you beat us at Ninian Park, classic Darren Purse own goal, but you still went down. Now after 10 games you are just off a play off spot. I have this theory that you can tell how your season is going to end at the 10 game mark. We, as in Cardiff for those of you trying to work out who I support, were in 7th position this tme last year. We ended up 7th missing out by 1 goal difference but I dont want to talk about that, definately not going to talk about that. So if my theory is right then you guys are going to be close to it all at the end of the season. That would not surprse me at all. Over to you lot.
FilboFox Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 I'd be ecstatic if we ended up being nearly in the play-offs this season.
sdb Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 7th would be impressive but so annoying! I didn't expect us to start so well but you can look at it the other way and say we should have 3/4 more points. The league's a bit like that. I forgot how average it is. An average squad with a very good manager goes up most years so hopefully that's us but I predict finishing 10th-12th. Reckon you'll be 5th-8th. Maybe missing out on the playoffs by a goal
samjohnson Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 Im seriously thinking of betting that Leicester will make play-offs... o_O Shoot me if you think im wrong to do so

Guest Bilo Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 I'm very torn about the prospect of making the play-offs. If we reached the play-offs and won them this season, we'd get spanked every week, Pearson would be sacked, the club would be a laughing stock a la Derby and we'd be back in the Championship at square one. For those reasons, I hope we don't make the play-offs this season as slow and steady progress is, in my opinion, the best route to success. Such a question is academic though as I seriously doubt we have the quality and strength in depth to maintain a play-off push. The game against Cov on Saturday may have been a decent one, but that was more down to the fact that it was two very committed sides rather than two highly talented ones. We haven't the firepower of your very own Chopra and the midfield is too often outplayed for a potential promotion chasing side. On the plus side though, Fryatt will score enough goals this season to keep us out of trouble, Wellens looks an absolute bargain at £1.2 million and our defence really does look solid. If Tunchev returns from injury firing on all cylinders, I'd go so far as to say that is one part of the side that does look promotion quality. Overall though, as delighted as I am with 7th at this point in time, a blip is going to happen and we'll have to settle for something a bit lower than that. Mid-table in my opinion, possibly around the 10th-12th mark, which would represent the steady progress I mentioned earlier.

CosbehFox Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 We just won't have enough...we'll finish between 7th and 10th.
AyewJoking Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 Very good start. Pleased to see we have come up from League One and havent looked out of place at this level. I'm confident of a top ten finish but feel the play-offs are just out of reach this season.

I'm confident of a top ten finish but feel the play-offs are just out of reach this season. Why though? We've been in and around the play-offs all season. I don't see why we couldn't. We've clearly done enough so far and it's been hard, but 2 months into the season and to still be virtually in the playoffs surely tells you something about our team? There's still more to come obviously from our side, but I can only see us getting stronger under Pearson.
Jimmy Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 Im seriously thinking of betting that Leicester will make play-offs... o_O Shoot me if you think im wrong to do so go for it, at least then we can blame you when we don't make the play-offs

FoxyLady85 Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 I'd be happy with a top ten finish or even higher and we have done well this year I will be happy if we beat the Derby and Forrest both home and away . But we are looking solid I am quite surprised with Weale weren't expecting him to be that good. , I take it back he is alright

This, there's no point in being in this league with no ambition. We must aim for the playoffs, if not higher and people might laugh at the thought but from what I have seen and what other fans have said on other forums we look a tidy squad.

Failure to secure 3 points against the following when a) we had most of the play and b) were leading. Ipswich, Sheff U and Watford. Simple, darling.
Scow Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 Personally, I think we're a very solid outfit; more than capable of getting a result against any team in this league. I just fear we don't have enough goals in us to sustain a top six finish.
