Unit Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 The News of the World's showbusiness editor Dan Wootton told BBC News Gately had gone out for drinks, returned to his accommodation and gone to sleep, but never woke up. that's grim
Fox You Forest Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 I thought it was going to be a gag due to the lack of capital letters.

eleven points Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 A statement from Caroline de Wolfe and Rosemary Reed, of Agents Back Door Management, said: "Stephen was a very talented and much loved client and it was our great pleasure to work with him and our thoughts and condolences are extended to his loved ones at this very distressing time. Stephen was both in and out of the spotlight a genuine, funny and very charismatic man Boyzone star Stephen Gately dies "We are shocked and saddened that he is no longer with us and had such a short life as he had much more to give. "Stephen was both in and out of the spotlight a genuine, funny and very charismatic man who was a joy to spend time with and it was a privilege to know him. "He retained that rare quality of being humble despite his fame and this endeared him to those he worked with." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8301233.stm

Katy Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 Ridiculously young. It is possible for people to pass away in their sleep without doing anything untoward, he may have had an undetected heart condition - we just don't know until the post-mortem. Bit of a shock to say the least. I was never a massive fan of Boyzone or his subsequent work, but it's always sad to hear of someone passing away before their time.
vanfox12 Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 RIP . Ironically i was watching a repeat of Porridge on BBC 2 Tonight with the late Richard Beckinsale he was around the same age when he died.
Guest Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 RIP . Ironically i was watching a repeat of Porridge on BBC 2 Tonight with the late Richard Beckinsale he was around the same age when he died. If you want more ironic, we were in a reputable(?) fast food outlet showing a rundown of the 20 biggest boyband tunes of the 90s which was dominated by Boyzone, and topped off by "No Matter...." which Gately did most of the vocals on. I wasn't never into Boyzone, but reading about someone younger dying just like that is a shock. You never expect that.
