PAULCFC Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 We're lucky enough to have sky hd in one room and a decent stereo in the other. The thing is that i've watched a few games on sky and find it alot better to just listen to the 5live commentry in the other room.I'll definately watch the QPR game tommorow, but for matches i'm not that bothered about then Alan Green and the other commentators are so much better for me........Discuss
lildave3 Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I hate listening to games on the radio. Especially when I could just watch it...
Tommeh Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I hate watching games on the television. Especially when I could be there in person. Reading was horrible. Never again hopefully.
Koke Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Only time I listen to the radio is when Ian Stringer is covering our games.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I used to like listening to the radio all the time when the game was also on TV... mainly because the radio was 3-5 seconds ahead, so I knew what was coming, which for some twisted reason I liked. I don't mind it... sometimes, if you're only half watching a game, or trying to do something else, it's brilliant because the radio gives a lot more detail, meaning you know when to look up. Can't say i've ever tried it with LCFC matches though, haven't seen one on the TV live since Blackburn in 2005.
Uncle Albert Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I love watching Sky Sports, so much better and cheaper.
dandannieldanok Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I like listening to 5live's coverage of Premier League games and Champions League nights, 606 is also the best phone-in around. I don't enjoy listening to Leicester on the radio because Stringer just gets on my nerves.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I find the radio is about one second quicker than the TV so I cant do it.
sdb Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Depends who's commentating. I'd never turn Clive T off. Alan Green really pissses me off now but I used to like him. 5 live commentators tend to have an opinion though which I like and is so rare these days on TV commentary.
Guest Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 5 Live (but then I may be a little biased ) Depending on the broadcast chain the TV can be significantly slower so I can't do the watching Sky/listening to 5 live thing as it annoys me. Because I'm driving about so much to watch City I end up listening to lots of 5 live anyway, Monday Night Club, Football League & Prem coverage, 606 etc. Just wish I had a DAB in my car so I could get Sports Extra really
Matt Posted 1 November 2009 Posted 1 November 2009 If its on Sky i'll watch it BUT I would much rather Leicester play at 3pm on a Saturday if it is an away game i'm not going too and listen on the Radio rather than being a Monday or Friday night on Sky. I'm glad we have had the 2 games this week on Sky and i've watched both (I enjoyed Friday ALOT, Monday's maybe not ) but give me a 3pm Saturday on the Radio anyday. It just fooks with you're routine, I went to bed this afternoon, 1 because I felt ill, 2 because I was up early for work and going out tonight so want to catch some Z's and 3 because Saturday at 3pm is to go out and watch/or listen to your team play football, Call me a boring bastard but when Leicester aren't playing at 3pm on a Saturday I don't know what to do with myself. I don't know how Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, e.t.c fans do it, playing on Early Saturday/Sunday/Monday, e.t.c to suit Sky, Mind you I suppose they know nothing else and Sky is "their football life".
Ford Super Sunday Posted 1 November 2009 Posted 1 November 2009 Well I certainly used five live yesterday when watching the Arsenal and Liverpool games on internet streams I didn't have a spanish/arabic/Romanian dictionary on me... though I did understand GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, just about...
