The Wednesday coming to town

Not long to go now December 12th. We're on a terrible run of form and at present I can't see where the next win is coming from. Brian Laws is under huge pressure but hopefully it will all have changed by the time we visit you. We're creating plenty of chances we're just really struggling to score goals.

I've been really impressed with you guys this season. The shock team along with Blackpool. Who has been your top performers? Who else is there to look out for?

Any advice on pubs eateries etc while we're there?

:) Cheers TO

Can't advise oin the pubs part, but regarding football, Chris Weale has been the outstanding performer for me. Kept us solid at the back and has been the best keeper we've actually owned in quite a while.

Hows Tudgay doing for you? Had a stormer last season, haven't heard much of him this season though.

Depends on whether you're coming by train or car I guess?

I am always excited for games against Sheffield Wednesday because they are local for me.

The Leicester player to look out for is most probably Richie Wellens. He is the best midfielder we have had in a long time. He can pick a pass. He gets stuck in constantly. His control is excellent and he dominates midfield. You can tell that he played for Manchester United. He is clearly the best signing Nigel Pearson has made in his time here, along with young Jack Hobbs who has been solid at the back again.

As I live in Worksop, a large percentage of my friends are either Wednesday/United/Leeds fans and the Wednesday fans indeed have been talking about Laws' job and even a few talking about relegation in recent weeks - it seems a bit stupid I know.

I like Brian Laws though, he is a good manager and no doubt, will keep you up again. I bet he is on a tight budget and all that.

The only reasons I am fearing this is because I live in Worksop and we don't really beat my local sides often (ok we won at Hillsborough the other year, once in about 7 years I think, even longer in the league. Usually ok against Leeds). Also, the legend Nigel Pearson hasn't beaten one of his former clubs at home in his time here, and obviousley he is a big hit with the Wednesday fans isn't he, being a legend their and all.

You have good fans away from home but I suppose it's not a far trip from Sheffield as it only takes 1 hour and 10 minutes for us to get down to Leicester.

Thats about it from me.

First home game I've really looked forward to since Leeds. Wednesday always bring a great crowd down and usually beat us with a few scorchers.

Going down with a mate from uni who will be in the away end. We MUST win.

But after the game...... ey, we're all Wednesday ain't we?

Good club Wednesday. One of the very few likeable clubs and fans in this division.

However, we owe them a good hiding for the 1-3 debacle eighteen months ago which put the nail in our coffin.

Lets hope Darren Purse is playing

If he never plays for us again I will be delighted. Terrible signing.

The transfer talk in the summer has clearly affected him but he has not had the best of support up front. Our midfield has looked better this season with Potter and O'Connor but he needs a strike partner.

Not decided yet. Probably car.

We had the 4th lowest budget in the division last season. It has been increased since then but it has been wasted on big wages for Darren Purse and Tommy Miller. I'm not convinced by Laws any more. His signings have been very hit and miss and there is something not right at the club. December is a massive month for him. Another month like last one and I'll have seriously lost patience. Who we would get to potentially replace him is another story. Without investment we probably won't be able to afford to sack him and give a new manager a budget to spend. We're not playing badly but we're not getting results or learning from our mistakes. It took Laws two months too long to drop Darren Purse from the side. He has been an absolute bombscare. Shocking signing.

Bad bad memories from your last visit here, should be a happier occasion this time, we hope.........:D

 I would love a repeat I can't see it though.

We won't score three this time. Trust me!

I think both Wednesday and Coventry have one common problem - they're not going down and they are not going up either. Both are just virtually at standstill. As long as Coleman is in charge at Cov, they will forever be a lower mid-table side playing for nothing from February on. I get the feeling Wednesday are heading into that territory as well, which is a shit place to be.

I knew Wellens would be a top signing for you. He ran the show at Donny for a few seasons. Very talented player.

I definitely agree we're not going up any time soon. We don't have the squad strength, money or talent. Going down I'm not sure. We're playing well and the football is great to watch, but we don't capitalise, and we're very prone to making horrendous mistakes at the back. It's a massive problem and we don't seem to be rectifying it or learning from it. Peterborough are doomed. I think S****horpe will also drop. They are easily the worst team we've played this season. We need to start scoring goals or we are very capable of joining them.

Will never forget that crushing 4-1 defeat where just about every goal that flew in was an absolute screamer. Bet it was an absolute joy to watch if you were a Wednesday fan that day, some ridiculous strikes from Tudgay, Whelan and Brunt.

It was a right kick in the bollocks that day. Ripped to shreds at home with three quality goals. Whelan's was an absolute belter. Probably the best of the bunch.

Looking forward to the Wednesday match, you always bring a big following so it has a big game feel about it.

Our last two home matches with you have been ones to forget, so hope for better this time around.

Players to look out for- Chris Weale, who's been very solid so far, Bruno Berner likewise, and the strikers, probably Waghorn and Fryatt.

Best of luck for the rest of the season, barring the two games with us. A win on Saturday for you would help ;)

We've had a number of good performers this season, but I'd say Weale and Berner have been the pick of the bunch. As for the latter, I can't think of a better left back in this division.

I'm just glad they don't have Chris Brunt anymore. He was fucking good when I watched him play.

Two goals yesterday and he ran the show. I'm dreading this game now. :( You are playing well and we are appalling.

Indeed we are.

Hope they turn it around, lot of time for Wednesday fans. Obviously not against us though.

No!

I took so much stick during school, mostly off of Sheffield Wednesday fans.

At college now and I still get it, but this time of Doncaster fans!

Although I don't like them, I don't want them to go down either. I just like us being above them, and beating them (although we never do).

Can remember when we were relegated and indeed I went to Stoke City away - that day.

Walked into school. I was in my last year:

Dopey (Forest fan): I feel so sorry for you pal, I really do.

Luke and Lilley (Wednesday fans): hahahaha enjoy League 1.

Honestly though, I do like Brian Laws.

You will beat us.

Any money on it.
