StanSP Posted 30 November 2009 Posted 30 November 2009 Think we'll beat them. I'd put money on it. But there's 2 games before this (one a massive game) so I'd focus on that first.
lcfc_jme Posted 30 November 2009 Posted 30 November 2009 Thanks for your help Two goals yesterday and he ran the show. I'm dreading this game now. You are playing well and we are appalling. He is sensational, how he isn't playing for a mid-table Premiership side is bewildering. Easily good enough to play for somebody average, like Villa.

Easily good enough to play for somebody average, like Villa. Always thought Villa should have bought him rather than spend a fortune on Stewart fucking Downing. Brunt wipes the floor with Downing. In the 08/09 season where both their respective teams went down, this was their stats. Stewart Downing - 43 app. 1 goal Chris Brunt - 30 app. 9 goals
Fox92 Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Chris Brunt is a fantastic player. Is it me or does Di Matteo play Brunt on the right so that Jerome Thomas can play on the left? He did it against Leicester, felt sorry for Brunt because he is a natural left winger I think.

In the 08/09 season where both their respective teams went down, this was their stats. Stewart Downing - 43 app. 1 goal Chris Brunt - 30 app. 9 goals Very true in my opinion, for me Downing is overrated anyway whereas Brunt is massively underrated. As a fan, I know who I'd feel more confident of our defence facing / containing anyway. Brunt scores wonder goals as well as chipping in with goals from set-pieces. I'd also suggest that he's more likely to create goals than Downing, mainly because his delivery is, on the whole, much better and more threatening than SD's. Downing thinks he IS the team (well, he did at 'boro, anyway). I think given a year or two even that Johnson kid at 'boro will be better than Downing. In essence, I'm glad Brunt isn't playing for Wednesday and hopefully he fucks off to the Premier League where a) he should be and b) can't play against us again!
Koke Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 There is no better time to play Sheffield Wednesday. They are 24th in the form table. We are 16th. Having said that, the last two home games against Wednesday are fresh in my memory. <_<
Fox92 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I am scared ahead of Saturday. Nigel's playing one of his old clubs, and we never beat his old clubs at home. Carlise 2-2 West Brom 1-2
lou Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Guaranteed loss. I'm being optimistic as well!! Were all getting pissed beforehand arent we? Doesnt matter then

lcfc_jme Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Were all getting pissed beforehand arent we? Doesnt matter then Where? I'm in. Is Marcus Tudgay playing? If so, I'm having him first and last g/s, with some other player scoring and us bagging a consolation and looking like complete ****** dancing around to goal music at 3-1 down after 94 minutes. The only way Saturday could be worse was if they had Brunt.
z-layrex Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Sadly with nine goals conceded in the last three games, there's no better time to play us. That stings worse than my haemorrhoids.
Koke Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Sadly with nine goals conceded in the last three games, there's no better time to play us. Compared to Wednesday we are on promotion form They haven't scored a goal in 5 games. And they havn't won in 8. I wish we were playing them at Hillsbrough instead, cos it's a bit of an anti-climax for them there at the moment. Their fans would turn against them very quickly if we scored early, and they'd go on a free-fall after that. Away from home against a team who's doing piss-poor as well and shipping in goals left, right and centre, they will probably fancy their chances and develop a siege mentality with their usual 3,000 strongly backed Wednesdayites.

Maybes Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Always enjoy the banter with the wednesday following, who usually come in numbers. They have scored some fooking screamers in recent years....especially when we got tonked 4-1. Wonder goals galore. Fingers crossed we can do them saturday, big game for both sides really.
CosbehFox Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Can we just agree on the points now. Have a gentlemen's handshake, we'll get three point this time out and you can have the points at Hillsborough.

This will more than likely be the kickstart for your promotion challenge again. Sadly for us it will condemn us to the bottom three. Some of our fans are saying we played well last night? We lost for only the second time in our entire history against Doncaster ******* Rovers last night. The time before that was last season. We had one shot on goal. We were more solid, looked more up for it, and didn't capitulate like recent weeks, but played well? We didn't. I just don't get it? Our fans obviously have low expectations now. Either that or they are trying to take the positive out of everything. I'm getting fed up of toothless pathetic displays. It has been like that every week for a long time now. We are shocking at the moment and if things don't change fast we are heading for the drop. We've played a number of teams towards the bottom of the league in the last few weeks and not beaten any of them. Looking like dark times for us again. I'm genuinely terrified for our future.
