The warning of the Pompey chimes

Worth it, was it? How the chickens have come home to roost. Rotten, toxic chickens.
Seven years on, will we be having a similar conversation? Hopefully Portsmouth will still be around by then.

I've been having those thoughts since Mandaric arrived in the guise of John Wayne and the US 7th Cavalry promising us riches beyond our capability.

If the Messiah looks like this then yes he is!

I think we would only really be in trouble if we were to blow too much money in January and then not get promoted in the next couple of years. Even if we were to go up, we would be fairly likely to go down and if the money wasn't used properly, we could then be in an even worse situation.

So plenty to look forward too. :D

But we haven't a clue what the financial state of the club is other than it's losing money. It's common knowledge that we can't afford the payments on the stadium whilst in the Championship, we don't know where the money is coming from I doubt Mandaric is being philanthropic, not that he should be so that only leaves loans, but who to and at what interests rate.

What we do know is that most clubs in our position end up in the shit because they are totally in debt to their so called 'benefactor'.

I think with these Billionaire investors, everybody is hoping they are just like Roman Abramovich - although what his ulterior motive for Chelski in the end is anybody's guess.

In my time, there have only been really two Chairmen who have been investing in clubs that they love. Gibson at Middlesbrough has obviously fallen on harder times, but all clubs, including ourselves, are probably wishing for a figurehead like Jack Walker - who invested millions on players for his beloved Blackburn Rovers - a club he'd always supported.
