Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Written this for Bentley's Roof (boo, hiss! ): http://www.bentleysroof.co.uk/hark-the-war...-pompey-chimes/ What does everyone think? Much to worry about? Not our problem? A worrying sign?
davieG Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Worth it, was it? How the chickens have come home to roost. Rotten, toxic chickens. Seven years on, will we be having a similar conversation? Hopefully Portsmouth will still be around by then. I've been having those thoughts since Mandaric arrived in the guise of John Wayne and the US 7th Cavalry promising us riches beyond our capability.

Guest Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 are you saying he's not the messiah ? Sounds like someone'll be off creating a late entry for graphic of the year
davieG Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 are you saying he's not the messiah ? If the Messiah looks like this then yes he is!
Kilworthfox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 "Things are, generally, quite rosy on the surface" All I know is Leicester City are in a shed load of debt
Basingstoke Fox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 I think we would only really be in trouble if we were to blow too much money in January and then not get promoted in the next couple of years. Even if we were to go up, we would be fairly likely to go down and if the money wasn't used properly, we could then be in an even worse situation. So plenty to look forward too.

But we haven't a clue what the financial state of the club is other than it's losing money. It's common knowledge that we can't afford the payments on the stadium whilst in the Championship, we don't know where the money is coming from I doubt Mandaric is being philanthropic, not that he should be so that only leaves loans, but who to and at what interests rate. What we do know is that most clubs in our position end up in the shit because they are totally in debt to their so called 'benefactor'.
CosbehFox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Well one benefit of them getting relegated would be another decent addition to the fixture list and a superb opportunity to start moaning about 'admin, blah, rrrrr'.
Daggers Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 What does everyone think? As Tiger Woods might testify, a club in the wrong hands can be a very dangerous thing. Loving your work, Dave
Finnegan Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Loving your work, Dave Aye, t'was a good line.
jonthefox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 "" who would you support if it all ended tomorrow" interesting question.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 "" who would you support if it all ended tomorrow"interesting question. Leicester. Afc City of Leicester or whatever the remake of it would be .
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 I think with these Billionaire investors, everybody is hoping they are just like Roman Abramovich - although what his ulterior motive for Chelski in the end is anybody's guess. In my time, there have only been really two Chairmen who have been investing in clubs that they love. Gibson at Middlesbrough has obviously fallen on harder times, but all clubs, including ourselves, are probably wishing for a figurehead like Jack Walker - who invested millions on players for his beloved Blackburn Rovers - a club he'd always supported.
