We need a strong bench so idiot commentators can say "...and they've got great quality on the bench" before we bring on three defenders to hold on to a 1-0. Either way, latest rumours seem to be that some foreign lot have offered 6m. Can't see that myself.

Part Of The Crowd Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Id agree with Beckford being the best striker outside of the Premiership. I wouldn't agree, he may get the goals at league one level but it's unproven he'll get them any higher. Add to that his work ethic, there are many players in the Championship and even League One who get the goals but also add to the all round play. Lambert being an example of that from League One. Beckford'll score on occasion, but he'll do nothing else for most of the game and miss a fair few efforts before he scores. No doubt he's good, but he isn't that good. He's definitely the most talked about though.

Bit of a strange one that as he only signed for them in the summer. Been playing regularly as well. I know he use to be on stupid wages at West Ham though, and I'm guessing he took a massive pay cut to join Everton.

Maybe me hanging around outside his house 24/7 with Binoculours constantly trained at his bedroom window may have something to do with this move?
