ramboacdc Posted 1 January 2010 Author Posted 1 January 2010 god knows really but good to see we have a few midfielders coming in, unless pearsons planning a dfs winter sale of the midfield
MPH Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 cant see the mirror article link... its either been changed or taken off...
mmarkie Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Does it say anything about him being 'practically signed'?
Ford Super Sunday Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 I just got a non-working Mirror article and a squad profile with no links to Leicester For me, personally, that's not the most reliable sourced info I've ever seen.
MC Prussian Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Didn't we already sign a similar (now 31-year old) defensive midfielder from Birmingham City about two years ago? Plus, Stephen Clemence is just getting back into football.

davieG Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 He's been out with injuries and not played 1st team football for months, strikes me as risky and not a signing that would have an immediate impact - waits to see the complete opposite happen now!
DB11 Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Does it say anything about him being 'practically signed'? I think the 'practically signed' post was sarcasm because the links are useless!
Father Ted Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 We don't need him. He is a cripple now, he only played 9 league games for Birmingham in the Championship last year. He is also a defensive midfielder and I really doubt he will play much with Wellens and King already there and Oakley as cover.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 If we could get him very cheaply then I think he'd be a decent addition. At times this season we've lacked the bite and tackling of midfielder like Johnson.

teblin Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 Leicester are ready to make a £500,000 bid for Birmingham midfielder Damien Johnson Star on sunday
teblin Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 I was having a think about johnson and had a feeling he could play fullback too and according to the brum site he can. Northern Ireland international Damien Johnson joined Blues in March 2002 for a fee of just £50,000 from Blackburn Rovers, having made over 100 appearances for the Lancashire club after progressing through their Academy ranks.Johnson can also operate as a full back when called upon. His battling performances and never-say-die attitude earned him both the Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards at the end of the 2005/06 season. He was appointed club captain for the 2006/07 season and, although his season was punctuated by a broken jaw, he still made 25 league appearances.
Tony Pine Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 loan i'd take. but def don't buy him for any more than 100k
ramboacdc Posted 1 February 2010 Author Posted 1 February 2010 hes talking to many championship clubs today according to SSN

Guest Mee-9 Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 1729: Plymouth have signed Birmingham midfielder Damien Johnson on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Thank god.
barmy76uk Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 damn beaten to it! we must be absolutely noboddys, beaten to a player by plymouth, disgrace!!!!!!!!!!! After mandaric only 3 or 4 weeks ago saying that pearson was going to be given lots of money to sign new players as we are near the play offs! THe club is a fooking disgrace

THe club is a fooking disgrace I am inclined to agree with you. Would have been a useful addition, can play in the midfield or even fullback? Best one of the day went for free on loan to Ipswich and that was David Healey. Now, there's a player we could have done with?? Surely if we signed Bruce from Ipswich it would not have taken Pearson much pursuasion to tap up his old man and bring in Healey from Sunderland??? Just a thought.
