Daggers Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 Governments love a population living in fear, it means they think more about themselves and less about who they may be voting for. "Oooh no, I don't think it would be a good time to change to the Tories" Or maybe I'm just too cynical.
CosbehFox Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 Regardless of warning, if you were in the awful situation of being involved in an attack, there's virtually little you can do. If it happens, it happens.

Tilley Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 We'll get hit on a massive scale one day but they'll be nothing I can do about it so fuck it.
samlcfc Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 good thing theyve cut budgets on counter terrorism in pakistan then
ob1kanobe0 Posted 24 January 2010 Posted 24 January 2010 http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/U...201001415533869I wonder if the suspension of flights from Yemen are related? Scary stuff but reassuring to know intelligence seem to be on the ball? Time to be vigilent - or is it paranoid? Time to stop listening to manipulation. The box in the corner of our living room is the strongest manipulation tool ever invented, it constantly tells us 4 muslims commited 7/7 and 19 muslims commited 9/11, what nonsense. Ive lost count of the amount of times we've had an imenient 'terror threat'.

Guest Bilo Posted 24 January 2010 Posted 24 January 2010 Who actually committed 9/11? All these conspiracy theories grounded in piss-poor, debunked science and wishful thinking have convinced me. lou Posted 24 January 2010 Author Posted 24 January 2010 Well apparently it's something to do with the Detroit failed attack... that's what they're basing it on anyway. Wow didnt realise we had a member of the intelligence service posting on here! a cynic might suggest that it's not a bad wheeze for a dying and discredited administration to come up with a vague unspecified threat in order to appear masterful and in command It does seem a bit convenient A cynic might argue that the state needs some terrorist activity now so it can give itself more powers ( or fully use the ones it already has ) to " keep us safe " and at the same time cover up stuff it doesn't want you to know under the guise of national security, Governments love a population living in fear, it means they think more about themselves and less about who they may be voting for."Oooh no, I don't think it would be a good time to change to the Tories" Or maybe I'm just too cynical. Pretty much sums up my immediate thoughts... government in a mess, general election looming, lets crank up the terror warning and when nothing happens the general populus will be ever so grateful to us for preventing another huge attack! Not that Im saying there arent all kinds of extremists out there wishing to do some of us some damage Im just not convinced theres any more threat now than there has been since they raised it last Summer?
Webbo Posted 24 January 2010 Posted 24 January 2010 Why have the last few replies been deleted? Maybe Ob1kenobe's right?
Zingari Posted 24 January 2010 Posted 24 January 2010 Why have the last few replies been deleted? Maybe Ob1kenobe's right? sounds like he'd watched "muad dib's , 7/7 ripple effect" be careful obe1konobe , you can be arrested and deported for that sort of stuff

It does seem that way looking at it through my cynical eyes. I daresay that when we get to May and there has been no terror attack; Labour will tell us that they're tough on terror and that the security services are safest in their hands. There are extremists out there wanting to cause us damage, of that there is no doubt, but the timing of this does seem rather calculated and convenient.
acooling08 Posted 24 January 2010 Posted 24 January 2010 I don't get why it has been raised though, what caused the rise?
Daggers Posted 24 January 2010 Posted 24 January 2010 I don't get why it has been raised though, what caused the rise? The government is looking like a bunch of cunts in the Iraq inquiry. The government has presided over a country in decline. The government wish to shift the public's gaze. There is no evidence, no indication what is going to happen, no advice on what to do; no nothing. This is a cheap shot at replicating Maggie's 'war win' and attemping to shift the media away from Blair's evidence at the inquiry. It's bullshit.
Geo V Posted 24 January 2010 Posted 24 January 2010 I totally refute all allegations that this has got anything to do with my return to the country. That reminds me I need to trim the beard and attach my new hook.

Pissed me off when he said he would have gone into Iraq whether or not they could find WMD's. I tried to imagine what David Kelly's family must have thought, seeing as the supposed reason for his suicide was his anxiety over the contents of, and who, leaked the report.
BoneDog Posted 25 January 2010 Posted 25 January 2010 Who actually committed 9/11? All these conspiracy theories grounded in piss-poor, debunked science and wishful thinking have convinced me. BILOBET LATEST ODDS: "Some Zionists" 4/6 - Involved A few members of The CIA 5/4 - Involved obviously A few members of The Freemasons 3/1 - Involved Space Lizards 4/1 - I doubt it but you never know The WI 80/1 - Maybe a few were victims on the planes Al Qaeda 250/1 - Not involved http://www.debunking911.com Those 911 debunking videos really haven't debunked any of the serious questions. I've watched every video a few times over the last year and the responses they give disprove nothing. This book does very well in showing the debunkers up for what they are: And his book 'The New Pearl Harbour' proves to any sound minded or unbiased person how it is impossible for the official story to be true. It shows how those few arabs with crappy little knives made out of toothbrushes couldn't of pulled off the events of Sep 11th which needed NORAD, the FAA and others to spend that morning not doing their jobs properly like they always did on every other day of the year. The official story is a poor conspiracy theory and many of you still believe it!

I've read today that Hutton has ordered that the evidence about Kelly including his medical records be kept secret for 70 years! What the hell is that all about? They say he committed suicide (which is obviously not true) and then they classify his case and won't let anyone see it for 70 years Report "The official heading an inquiry into the suspicious death of a British weapons inspector who cast doubts on the main argument for invading Iraq has secretly ordered all evidence locked up for 70 years. Lord Hutton, who chaired the 2003 inquiry, which controversially concluded that Doctor David Kelly's death has been a suicide, secured a 70-year seal on all major evidence, including medical records — none of which had ever been made public. The unprecedented move was revealed last week, sparking fresh uproar and allegations of a government cover-up."
samlcfc Posted 25 January 2010 Posted 25 January 2010 most, if not all conspiracy theories are complet bull. People just dont seem t think that anything big can happen without it being dodgy

MC Prussian Posted 25 January 2010 Posted 25 January 2010 The sheer mention of John McCain's name already guarantees that I'll never read this pile of *E*ç/. Wouldn't surprise me if that Brad Reagan was somehow related to Ronald, the Thatcher Ass-Kisser.
BoneDog Posted 25 January 2010 Posted 25 January 2010 Popular mechanics are well known for totally ignoring important facts to fit their theories.
