Skysports.com understands a host of clubs are monitoring Lloyd Sam's situation at Charlton.

Sam's current deal expires at the end of the season and as yet no new contract has been agreed at The Valley.

The news has alerted a number of clubs to the winger's possible availability at the end of the season.

Sam has been instrumental in Charlton's push for promotion this season with a number of eye-catching showings and his performances have not gone unnoticed by other sides.

Championship trio Queens Park Rangers, Leicester and Sheffield United are all thought to be keen on Sam, along with a number of other clubs.

Charlton would be loath to lose the exciting wide-man, but they could face a battle to keep hold of him in the summer if they do not tie him down to a new deal.

Would not surprise me. Even predicted when Gradel left that Solano was a short-term signing in preparation for a free signing in the summer. Pearson/Walsh clearly do a lot of work on working out whose out of contract etc.

Question for me would be Adams appears to be just as good of a player at L1 level and is standing out in a side who've had a worse season than either Gradel's Leeds or Sam's Charlton. Surely he's got to be worthy?

Is he better than Dyer, N'Guessan, Adams, Gradel :dunno: who all shone at the lower levels or even Solano?

didn't he do quite well for them when in the Prem in his limited chances, seem to remember him having fairly good reputation at this level as well

Not sure why anybody wouldn't want this to happen to be honest, we're painfully lacking in wing quality.

The problem is would we actually play him? It seems to have become common practice recently to have an abundance of wingers but not play them :D:fishing:

my mate whos a charlton fan and watches charlton regularly is a big fan of lloyd sam's. did well in the prem aswel. plus what i have seen of him he has a quality delivery of the ball and runs at players. has a good right and left foot so can play on either side. i would like to see him here.

I dont think Lloyd Sam would add much to the squad in all honesty

He did OK in the premiership but OK doesnt cut the mustard

If we were to go up, we would need to replace him with someone better immediately IMHO

tbh i would take an average premiership winger. beats an OK striker playing on the wing surely? or an OK centre midfielder playing on the wing? he delivers well with both feet. dont understand why anyone would be against this tbh
