Daggers Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 We used to have this thing with a space scene or a western - and a massive sheet of transfers. It was our Xbox360, if you will. Not much, but it kept us happy until they invented colour television.
Daggers Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 This was my first as I remember: In which case you must have bought Shoot, and therefore attempted to keep track of league positions using the best of all givaways: The League Chart. I can't find a picture so here is something mostly unrelated...
lcfcsnow Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 Did they ever have football pogs? Yeah, I used to collect no end of pogs. Around 94' I collected most of the Blackburn squad and would never risk losing them. Still have some now.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 I dominated the AFL sticker albums as my dad would call up and make a complaint that we received a packet with a few cards missing.....a week later a written appology accompanied by the full set.
hairy Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 No one ever believes me when I go on about how the team badge stickers used to be made of a shiny synthetic woven material (and were nicknamed 'silkies' in some quarters as a result) but I now have proof:http://www.classicfootballstickers.co.uk/f79badges.html There's even a Leicester one, fancy that I had these, including the Leicester one

Not much, but it kept us happy until they invented colour television. Awwww, they were brilliant! I also used to love getting from the newsagents big colour by number pictures on A4 sized cards that came with a set of felt tips. In which case you must have bought Shoot, and therefore attempted to keep track of league positions using the best of all givaways: The League Chart.I can't find a picture so here is something mostly unrelated... Indeed I did, little tabs in team colours which slotted into each division (and you'd get a new division, usually 4 English and Scots Premier, over the summer hols, once a week (that's a poorly crafted sentence, but sod it!)) I used to put City top... just to see what it would look like

About 40p per pack.
Fosse Boy Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 Always had the Merlin ones but never once completed them. Just ended up with myriad swaps of fucking Stuart Nethercott and Lars Boheinen.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 March 2010 Author Posted 5 March 2010 I thought I was the only person who did this. You're not as unique as you think you are
Leicfox Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 I was the kid who always had loads of swaps. I was quite lucky that my uncle used to work the trains and he'd nick me full boxes.
Jordan Posted 6 March 2010 Posted 6 March 2010 Hell yeah. I've got a twin brother; we would only get one album each to share (tbh, though, I think we only did 88/89 and 89/90, because I don't remember us keeping many Panini albums)
