Guest Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 Coventry are to Leicester what Leicester are to Forest. We (not so) secretly hate them?
Kilworthfox Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 We (not so) secretly hate them? Hmmm personally not me, I regard them a a much lesser rival than Forest or Derby, & I live much nearer to Cov than Derby or Notts. I view Coventry City as a rival yeah, but I don't hate them like I hate The shaggers or Forest. I appreciate that the majority of Derby & Forest fans like that rivalry more than with Leicester, but I am not bothered about that. We only have 1 anti Cov song, and many for Derby & Forest....
tylesta Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 Another offering from the Coventry faithful we hate leicester hahahaha makes me laugh about all these videos cov fans make about us pure in love with us imo Another offering from the Coventry faithful we hate leicester hahahaha makes me laugh about all these videos cov fans make about us pure in love with us imo

tylesta Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 long shot here anyone got a spare season ticket/ticket going as im on my arse and have to pay 700 notes buy friday, would love to see this one looking very unlikely though grrrr
Flynny Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 No way that isn't a Cov fan being tongue-in-cheek or, less likely, a Leicester fan being silly.

BlueSi13 Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 To be fair to Coventry at least they give a shit about us unlike Derby and Forest. Really don't get some of our fans superiority complex when they are mentioned, they are a similar size city, have a similar stadium and trump us in honours by having won something of international significance (the FA cup) For me i relish this derby, the club needs one, Derby and Forest are no bigger than us off the pitch but their historys shit all over us, our pursuit of them as an arch rival borders on pathetic every year. Roll on the M69 derby and 3 more points!!

Roll on the M69 derby and 3 more points!! There is no right or wrong though, It's people opinion, No-one should hate such and such a club just hate who you want (If anyone). I personally hate Covscum, I'm not sure why there a joke club, with shite no fans (I live in Nuneaton - Should in theory be full of Covscum fans - I'm more than confident there are more Leicester fans/other local clubs fans than Covscum fans - There just don't seem to exist), so some would say nothing to hate really, no threat, e.t.c, Again personally I have no problems with Forest or Derby, I've had banter in the last few years as my old boss was a Derby fan and i've worked with a few Forest fans so there has been banter but nothing that has really made me dislike or cause a rivallry. But there is no right or wrong, dislike who you want.
George Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Hello all, Coventry fan in peace here. Couple of points..... 1) We really don't see you as a cup final, i don't understand where you draw this conclusion from. Even though Villa don't give two ****s about us, that's our cup final. Similar to you lot and Forest. Only the 13 year old chav's have a burning rivalry for the Leicester game as they have never been around in the days of the old first division. Yes us older fans see you as a rivalry but your sounding us out to be obsessed with you which is not the case. 2)I got my tickets on Monday, we had only sold around 1,400 tickets with last nights result, it being on tele and being on a sunday we might scrape 2,500. I seem to remember you only bring 1,700 here a few years ago for your weekend game when it was live on the tele.
Shrenchel Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Barely over 16,000 wasn't it last night?! Embarrassing. Shit tips like Barnsley get more than that.
George Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Barely over 16,000 wasn't it last night?! Embarrassing. Shit tips like Barnsley get more than that. It was, considering Barnsley only got 14,000 last night ...... Your fans always harp on about how good you are, i seem to remember you getting 18,000 at home to Doncaster when under 12's went for free, brilliant turn out that.
Shrenchel Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 I know mate, I'm only joking. On a serious note though, why did they build your stadium so big? Surely if you'd just made it half that size and then sold more of the land to Tesco, you would have had a lot more cash to invest in the team. Did someone fvck up? Already had his bollocks on the block no doubt.

We're averaging 6,000 more than you right now...
George Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 We're averaging 6,000 more than you right now... Being in the play offs all season i should hope that you are. All Leicester fans i know always go on about how glorious their home support is. If its that good why ain't you averaging 25,000 ?

If its that good why ain't you averaging 25,000 ? Have you actually ever averaged close to 24,000?? Plus, the season we got relegated we still averaged 6,000 more than you are in your playoff push.

If its that good why ain't you averaging 25,000 ? We were getting around 22,000 average in League One. Couldn't see your lot doing that. And actually our average for the year is 24,000 so not far off. Our highest for the year: 31759. Read it and weep.
Shrenchel Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Have you actually ever averaged close to 24,000?? Don't be silly, they've never even got above 27 thousand for a league match in the 4 years if been open. I think it's quite adorable really, trying to pretend they're a real football club and that.
George Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Have you actually ever averaged close to 24,000?? Plus, the season we got relegated we still averaged 6,000 more than you are in your playoff push. First year at the Ricoh, averaged 23,000. We have shit support you don't have to tell me, but with you being in the play offs ALL season i think averaging 23,000 is pretty poor considering Derby avg 28,000. Your away support is dreadful, whilst you take good numbers you all sit and make no noise at all. You brought 4,800 here and i honestly heard you 3 times all game, you all sat.

I wouldn't use the annual Ricoh mongfest as a barometer for our away support Derby only average that because of the way they sell their season tickets.

Can assure you it was very different at Palace last night...

Whilst Derby's numbers are decent, they do give out a lot more free tickets than anybody else in the division I believe. We never make any noise at the Ricoh because it brings out all the happy-clap daytrippers who like to sit in silence. It's not exactly a ferocious derby for either of us... Averaging almost 24,000 is hardly poor, it's the fifth best average in the division at the moment. In terms of filling the stadium with attendance to capacity ratio, Coventry are 23rd...

I went Forest v Leicester, you were shocking their even when it was at 0-0. Their fans were saying on their message board that our fans made a lot more noise than your lot even though we had half of what you had their. Watching you on the box against Reading you were poor all sat in silence. Every time you have come to the Ricoh you have been up their amongst the worst in the league. This year you are the worst.

And here, for everyone to see, attendance-wise we are and were more "massive" than Coventry:
