lou Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 Anyone else suffer with it? Horrible Get a couple of bouts a year on average although last year I had about 4! Always end up on anti-biotics else I cant shift it, bloody pain is horrendous at times round the top of my nose and forehead - I sympathise with you fully
Bert Posted 16 March 2010 Author Posted 16 March 2010 Just been to the doctors and I'm on anti-biotics now for a week.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 My brother has it, when his sinuses get blocked he has bad migranes, has to have nasal spray every night and morning.
jimmer Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 Anyone else suffer with it? Horrible Oooo poor you. I'm not a regular sufferer but have had it twice and its not at all pleasant. All my upper teeth went numb and the pressure between my eyes was unbearable, antibiotics is the only way to go with this. Hope you feel better soon
fatmando Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 I get shite all the time and have done for years. Gives me right bad skull aches. At first I thought I needed glasses but after getting my eyes tested I found out I got 20-20 vision (which I presume is good, cos he couldn't get me out the place quick enough). Docs say I get sinusitis. Tip for you tho, boots pharmacy own brand decongestant tablets are the best for clearing it. Half the price of sudafed but 3 times as good at clearing it
Solihullfox Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 Not nice Bert. I am under a consultant ENT surgeon for nasal polyps which give me regular sinus infections and constant snot and differing degrees of pain/discomfort - had it for a couple of years, some right blinding headaches and dizziness when really congested. I've just done 6 weeks of antibiotics - no alcohol aaaaargghhhhhhhhh I also take regular courses of steroids and use a steroid nasal spray twice a day - tends to keep the symptoms under control. I also use a nasal sinus rinse morning and night. I would advise you push your doctor to refer you IF the symptoms persist as sinus problems are really unpleasant and can make you feel dreadful, 24 hours a day. Hope you get well soon.
MikeyT Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 I get it every now and again too. I also use a nasal spray prescribed by my doctor. Not fun.
Adster Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 I'll have to go doctors tomorrow. It's just annoying because I have exams next week and this isn't going to help
lavrentis Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 My sister has it bad and is having an operation soon to clear the sinuses.
Adster Posted 14 March 2012 Posted 14 March 2012 Mines back, again. Third time in about 7 months, this becoming an issue now.
cambridgefox Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Mines back, again. Third time in about 7 months, this becoming an issue now. How are peoples breakfasts now you have read this?
GLC Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 I suffer from it, had it 5 times in the last 8 months, plus i get awful migranes. i get spray to use which is a bit shit, i'm looking at the surgery though
Soar Fox Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 What is it? Michael Schofield said he had it in prison break.
Adster Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 What is it? Basically it's illnesses around your facial area. Mainly around the eyes, cheek bones, ears, nose and the throat. I can't give an expert definition, I can only give to you the experience I have with it. And everytime I have it I suffer with major migraines, pressure around the cheek bones ad eyes, and a bad, bad throat all in one illness. When you suffer with it you just don't feel like doing anything, which is exactly why I'm off college. What I mean by pressure around the eyes and cheek bones is that when you lean over, you can feel a horrible pressure in your eyes and cheeks. I suggest you google it to find out more.

Sounds horrible, worst I've had is ear ache. Sounds kind of similar. I'd get pain all down the side of my head and through my jaw. I could never sleep and lying down just wasn't possible, I had to go to bed in a chair for days just because of the pain, no idea why lying flat made it worse but it did. I'd punch myself in the jaw just to take the pain away, it was that excruciating, just drove me mad for days, First pain that's made me cry since I was about 6. Anyway, it sound horrible, assume you've been to a Doctor but can't they prescribe any pain killers or whatnot?
Wycombe Fox Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 Only had it once, about 14 years ago. The pain across the cheeks from nose to ear was unbearable. It reduced me to tears. Sympathies with anyone who suffers from this.

And I am experiencing what Isle Of White Fox just said. It's the main killer, it hurts so much. I have been to a doctors. But yes they won't give me anything, I'm not sure why. He just said its an illness that will show no signs of getting better, but you'll wake up one morning and it'll be gone. Which I've found previous times sufferering with this illness to be true.
mobi Posted 15 March 2012 Posted 15 March 2012 For Sinusitis - the only thing that works for me is Sudafed. However making sure its the one with Pseudoephedrine and not Phenylephrine. I think the only place you can get one with Pseudoephedrine if from a Chemist. Reading on the net they may more tightly regulate Pseudoephedrine due to its uses for other not medical practices but appears to be the one that works best for Sinusitis for me. Please note this not professional medical advise. Please do your own own research to confirm if its compatible with you.
