Shrenchel Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 Bullshit. I've seen and heard that type of pointless abuse many times over the years. That's one reason I avoid games, the other is boring football. Yeah you disabled, pro-palestinian antisemitic rants are a regular feature of Leicester games. An away trip wouldnt be an away trip without slagging off the Jews for at least most of the first half. I bloody love it. Tell us where the secret gold is you stingy cvnts! Stay at home you fvcking fantasist.

unreachable Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 You can't cross out support and accuse people of being merely followers due to lack of public vocality. Support is as much about money as it is about cheering the team. And they paid too. It's all about you isn't it! Vocal support creates an atmosphere that encourages the team to win which is what every supporter wants surely? I'd cheer and shout more if people weren't so quiet around me!

unreachable Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 This thread has degenerated into racist abuse and should be closed.

Lad, you start a thread with the longest ramble I've seen in ages about every minor detail you saw at the game yesterday and how that annoyed you. I haven't said fvck all about myself or anything I've done. Just making some points about the state of our support.

I'd cheer and shout more if people weren't so quiet around me! Tell me where I dispute that? I'm not suggesting you shouldn't cheer or shout or that cheering and shouting has no purpose. I am simply stating that one can not accuse another supporter of merely 'following the team' because they do not cheer and shout. Vocal support traditionally, has roots in attempting to impose a presence that suppresses the vocality of the opposing crowd. It has its origins from battles where armies would show up in numbers firstly and then shout, chant and jeer the other side into making a deal or 'terms' rather than fighting. I just hoped we had moved on slightly since those primitive times.

Nick Posted 3 April 2010 Author Posted 3 April 2010 We haven't moved on. Would you like to translate that into Latin? I fear that would be a pointless exercise in this place.
Nick Posted 3 April 2010 Author Posted 3 April 2010 You sound like a right laugh mate. And you an ignorant child. But I'm sure on another day we'd get on.

marbelladave Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 The usual rant from selfish, self obsessed people who want to support the team 'their' way and are abusive of people who choose to support their team in a different fashion. Age and experience has a lot to do with it, I have chanted, shouted and sung myself hoarse for City over more than 40 years, I have stood on the (Liverpool) Kop, the Stretford End, the Trent End, the Clock End etc, etc and on occasion (when set upon) even fought for City. With all due respect to the current generation of supporters the atmosphere generated in modern stadia does not begin to compare with the experiences of my youth so perhaps it is understandable that, these days, I am more inclined to sit on my own and actually watch the game. I am aware that some fans would find this somewhat anal, but it is the way that I choose to support my club and those of you who don't like my decision can, frankly, go fook yourselves.

Kilworthfox Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 It is quite obvious that there is a split in the LCFC support in how a supporter wants to support Leicester whilst attending games. These issuses should be left, let people support how they want to. I am a standing & singing type of supporter, I understand that it is frustraiting when you feel that the team needs a lift & it appears that half of the supporters can only muster up a few claps at most, but it really is their right to "support" the team as they feel fit. In my opinion atmosphere created makes little difference to the players. Most either have the desire to play and run their nuts off or they don't. Leicester fans in general are nice enough, but just like every professional football club, we have followers who are utter pillocks, & when fueld up on a day out with the friends really their sence of apropriateness goes out of the window. Yesterday i witnessed Leicester fans argueing because a few fans were constantly singing and making a noise, firstly the football is not the thearte & if you are not prepaird for this type of behaviour you really have to question what experiances people expect when attending a Leicester away game. However when harsh verbal exchanges occur, that really is not on, like Strench said we are all Leicester, We all want the team to do well, maybe it would be good to remember that, & to realise that each supporter has their own right to show their support, even if it means singing for 90+ minutes or just showing their face at the ground.
