Bloody Stringer too busy indulging himself to commentate properly on Gallagher's disallowed goal, so Stringer has had to play catch up later, thereby missing more action. Now the idiot is prattling on about beach balls and commentating on what members of the crowd are doing.

Not the best commentary today admitted. Wish they would research and tell us something about this dis-allowed goal.

Will DJ be eligible to play us in the play-offs if we meet them??

Are we in the match at all?

Any information on how we are playing and whether the young side can stand the pressure and ensure a 2 - 0 victory. Please don`t let it go down the wire for the Boto match.............. :please::o

DB11, we need your explanation of what happened on that drop-ball and why Gallagher's goal was disallowed ASAP.

"FIFA Rules

Dropped Ball

If, while the ball is still in play, the referee is required to stop play temporarily for any reason not mentioned elsewhere in the Laws of the Game, the match is restarted with a dropped ball.

Procedure

The referee drops the ball at the place where it was located when play was stopped, unless play was stopped inside the goal area, in which case the referee drops the ball on the goal area line parallel to the goal line at the point nearest to where the ball was located when play was stopped.

Play restarts when the ball touches the ground."

Yep got the same on ask the refs website. "Once the ball touches the ground, there is no restriction on who/how the ball can be played. Since the ball is 'put in play' by the referee"

Here

Frustrating that referee's don't know the rules and it will be typical of leicesters luck with them if that proves to be important. Stinks of Paul Durkin admitting to giving a penalty for a nothing challenge and allowing an offside goal VS arsenal last time we were in the prem and we nearly ended their unbeaten run.

However im confident we will still go on to win. First goal is important.

Andy Lonergan replaced by Wayne Henderson in the North End goal.

There was no indication in the first half that something was wrong with Lonergan (injury-wise).

Odd substitution.

I think the referee is allowed to pull back play for un-sporting play. Ie. scoring when you're meant to be giving the ball back to the other team (as they had possession before the stoppage)?

You tend to see subs like that at the end of the season, just to get a few appearances in. Especially when the team has nothing to play for.

Still a strange one though.

"Often when play has been stopped for an injury a team will stand back to allow the other team to have control at a drop ball - it is quite legal for the player to dribble the ball away here."

According to professional referees at asktheref.com here

you would have thought that gallagher would have been aware of the situation had that been the case, i assume it must have been pretty near the goalmouth?

Undoubtedly, but I think this game has double standards. On the basis that cheating has become a part of the game, they should abandon all pretense of sportsmanship. Dog eat dog..........devil.gif

um, sorry, didn't realise our comments had to be specifically related only to the last three games played.

over the season, the games we've struggled in have often been accompanied by failing to register shots on target.
