carterfox90 Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 whoever we get its going to be hard but i feel nigel will have the team in the right frame of mind for all of the games feel we can do cardiff over 2 legs would rather play forest over 1 game
Shrenchel Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 Forest plan to section off part of the away end for their fans in the semi-final and just give the away team the bare minimum so tickets would be rarer than a pregnant panda.
cecchini Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 to be honest i don't care who we play we will be in the prem next season - i can feel it!
Ric Flair Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 I'm not sure it matters, you've got to have the minerals to reach the premiership and mentally we need to be strong. We've beaten every team we might face at least once this season, so pyschologically there shouldn't be any chinks in our armour. Forest's hammering of us, hurt massively. If anything that's a good thing, especially given it's a local derby and the atmosphere would be electric. Cardiff don't really scare me, they've got some decent players but the teams we struggle against are teams with a strong central midfield and I don't rate Cardiff's middle or defence. Whittingham, Burke and their front men is a different matter but defensively we are looking sharp right now and King and Wellens have really hit it off in the past month. I really think this is our year, every time I thought we might buckle, we've bounced back and proved he doubters wrong. I'll take anyone that comes our way and i'm confident our team spirit will get the better of them. Bloody hell, I feel sick already. I cannot remember being this excited about Leicester since the O'Neill years. Last season was a buzz, but the Championship play-offs for me are a different beast. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Matty Fryatt, ala Steve Walsh against the shaggers back in '94.
Guest parky0607 Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 Forest. 1) Forest are really poor away. 2) We've improved no end since being hammered 5-1 at their place. 3) I don't fancy our chances of travelling to Cardiff on a Wednesday night and getting a result. 4) IF we got past Forest, I better our chances of beating Cardiff in a one off match at Wembley than I do over two legs. 5) I'm selfish and due to work I couldn't make Cardiff away but I could make Forest away. So next weekend I hope Cardiff win and Forest lose. Totally agree, with Forests away form at least were all but guaranteed a win in one of the legs. And I think we've built on whatever happened last time...
Guest parky0607 Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 I'd love forest in the final. But Blackpool could do them over I think. We could beat cardiff, and then if we get Blackpool in the final, No DJ, just Charlie Adam to worry about! He's one yellow card away from being suspended for the final if they were to get to that point!
Raj Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 I dont think this group of players mind who we play at the moment. 4 straight wins after 3 losses(i think) proves the mental strength of the squad. To lose Matty F when we did,and still get to the position of the play offs, shows alot of bollox. Personally i'd like Forest in the semis as i got a chance of going to the away leg too,but whatever i'd take just to see us back at Wembley(albeit minus the twin towers!)
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 It doesn't matter to me who we play. Just bring 'em on!
milan_foxes Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 With Forest's away form, I'd rather play them. Get a lead, then defend like fook. Completley agree.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 Bring on any of them!!! WE'LL FOOK 'EM UP!!! Incidentally, I went for Cardiff as the plan for the play-off final is to play Forest, be 3-0 down at half time, 3-3 at full time, Forest take the lead in extra time for 4-3 before 2 last minute goals seal us a 5-4 win and a place in the Premiership!
Lillehamring Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 I'm not sure it matters, dude, we have a team of heroes for the first time in years - please update your bloody sig!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 Sheffield Wednesday because they're crap - but sadly that won't happen. We will do well to beat Cardiff over two legs, they poses quality, and a potential return leg at their place will be a tough atmosphere. I'm not suggesting that Forest would be a walk in the park over two legs, but I think the local rivery of the fixtures would instantly make the games tense and closer affairs. It's funny, as we were chasing the play off spot I was confident that if we got in we would win it and go up - looking at it now, it's not that simple, sadly. Fingers crossed hey!
LoughboroughFox Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 forest for me, and just read were only going to get about 2000 away tickets regardless who we play, does that mean were cutting theres? seems a tad unfair if this is this case?
CupidStunt Posted 27 April 2010 Posted 27 April 2010 not really bothered who we get tbh i thought out of the 4 teams, 1st and 2nd place had home advantage in the first leg, which means if we finish 3rd out of the 4 teams, the 2nd leg would be at home for us heard on the radio, its the other way around??? whats corrrect?

It's a question whether we finish 4th or 5th on Sunday. As it stands, we'd play at HOME first, then AWAY. Should the unlikely happen and we get past Cardiff in the standings, we'd play AWAY first, then HOME. Simples.
