Guest Bilo Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 As sad as I was to see them go down last season because of the way the Football League treated them, their behaviour today was absolutely disgusting. I've never seen opposition players have to run into the stand to get away from fans before and hope not to again. If that's the standard of Luton support, they can rot in non-league football for ever more. Enjoy your trip to Southport next season boys. Luton v York http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP4epDCwEsk
FoxyPV Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Completely uncalled for. The players having to get escorted from the stand by the cops/ stewards was an absolute disgrace.
Ozwin Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 They deserve a points deduction next season for that, absolute scumbags.
Fosse Boy Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 They deserve a points deduction next season for that, absolute scumbags. Don't be such a tart. If half a dozen of our fans cobbed a few tuppences at opposition players would you say we deserved a points deduction?
Guest Bilo Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Points deduction no. They've already had nearly 50 points taken from them in under three years by the Football League and this is not a matter that directly controls their footballing matters. That only impacts upon the Luton players, who are probably as disgusted with their fans as we are. Playing a game or two behind closed doors might be a more appropriate punishment for failure to control the crowd. Tough but fair because if many more of these violent pitch invasions occur, the authorities will clamp down on everyone again.
filbertway Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Don't be such a tart. If half a dozen of our fans cobbed a few tuppences at opposition players would you say we deserved a points deduction? Probably yeh, I'd be ashamed if that was our fans.. There's banter then there is being a twunt.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Don't be such a tart. If half a dozen of our fans cobbed a few tuppences at opposition players would you say we deserved a points deduction? Piss off, half a dozen ?! Fooking over 400 of them on the pitch. I know non league football to you is like having sex but how can you stick up for them ****** today ? They should start on minus 30 next season. Never liked Luton always been a tinpot club with scummy fans. Hope they fooking rot in that league. Well done to York aswell.
Bert Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Make them play five games behind closed doors and give them a suspended fine.

Just saying a points deduction would be stupid in this instance. You're right about me preferring non-league football to sex though - much cheaper.
lcfc"weasel" Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 What happened at hillsborough yesterday that the reporter talks about?
Fosse Boy Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Probably yeh, I'd be ashamed if that was our fans.. There's banter then there is being a twunt. Yeah but we're talking about the actions of a minority. Why should the club suffer as a result of that? What happened at hillsborough yesterday that the reporter talks about? Palace invaded the pitch and a few Wednesday got on too and started dishing it out. A few players got caught up in it too sadly.
Daggers Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Proper fans them - not a club shirt or Thermos flask in sight. Must make you tasty 'proper' fans well proud to see such an anachronistic display of old school coin throwing. Stewards, eh? Only trying to upset teenage boys and ruin their enjoyment of a football match.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Apparently this had been prearranged by a group of fans if they lost. They thought it'd be good as a 'protest'. Stupid ****ers.
Daggers Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Yeah but we're talking about the actions of a minority. Why should the club suffer as a result of that? Err...because it is their duty to ensure the safety of all the players and supporters at the match? A duty they failed in enforcing.
Corky Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Pretty depressing scenes- I know they've lost but to attack the opposition players is dreadful. I'm sure there'll be quite a stern punishment, and once again the decent supporters who took defeat gracefully will suffer through no fault of their own.
Tommeh Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 What happened at hillsborough yesterday that the reporter talks about? Hillsborough yesterday was much worse than this, both fans on the pitch few slaps being exchanged, it started through Palace getting on in celebration and Wednesday defending their pitch and gound which is fair play, Palace retreated quickly then there was a bit with the police and some players got caught up in it, certainly entertaining from the stands. Today it just seemed a few Luton got a bit hacked off with it all and were a bit naughty, now they will have to take the punishment.
dandannieldanok Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Scum fans, kinda reflective of the shitehole that Kenilworth Road and Luton itself is. Disgusting behaviour, and people wonder why our stewards don't want the possible aggro that can arise from a pitch invasion. Just like at Hillsbrough, it always has the potential to turn nasty.
Shrenchel Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Stewards, eh? Only trying to upset teenage boys and ruin their enjoyment of a football match. Most the stewards just seem to be loitering round by the stand whilst the plod block off the pikeys, which I think probably proves the point that they're about as useful as a cvnt full of cold water when it comes to anything beyond the heinous crimes of standing or swearing.
Bert Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Yeah but we're talking about the actions of a minority. Why should the club suffer as a result of that? Stop trying to defend them. If you think scenes like that are ok, well I'm bemused. There are a good few hundred "fans" there pelting, bottles and coins at players and endangering them. That's why they should suffer. "The minority" always ruin things for the Majority. If they weren't to be punished after this and something really bad happened in the future, then it'll come back to this. The only way people will ever learn is punishment.
Shrenchel Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 Luton definitely should take a knock for this. Points deduction is completely counterproductive though.

I'm not defending them, what they did was disgusting. However, suggesting a points deduction is a reasonable punishment is illogical. Fine, if it was that many cobbing shit at defenceless players and away supporters then games behind closed doors etc. would be a more suitable way to punish them. All my original point was trying to say was would people think points deduction would be an appropriate punishment if something similar happened at one of our games. I doubt anyone would say yes.

It was a football match not a war, what's to defend a few excited fans on the pitch? You seem to rejoice in all this shit and it's arses like that which ensure we're all treated like cattle and second class citizens - frankly I don't understand your attitude. Having a good time doesn't have to involve fighting and violence.
Brainy Posted 3 May 2010 Posted 3 May 2010 All my original point was trying to say was would people think points deduction would be an appropriate punishment if something similar happened at one of our games. I doubt anyone would say yes. they're biased then, what do you expect? thats a daft argument. i wouldn't be going shouting out that I think we deserve a points deduction but i'd struggle to complain if we were to receive one.

Why? What does a points deduction prove? It's an inappropriate punishment. Do you really think it would stop these mindless goons from ever doing it again?
