body102 Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 What do people think about starting with Fryatt in the playoffs . In think he will be on the bench and used as an impact sub. From what I saw on Sunday I think he bottled a couple of aerial challenges which is understandable , and the fact he has been out for two months and lost all that weight and put it on again in quick time , surely means he is not fully match fit . Fryatt still has his part to play and i think a fresh Matty Fryatt coming off the bench if needed is a good weapon to have . I would start with Vaughan and Waghorn BLUE ARMY

Simi Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 At the end of the day no one can answer that question but the LCFC coaching staff/physios Yeah, so we should all keep our opinions to ourselves and not bother to discuss them on this fan message-board. Bit of silly comment really, regardless of how true it is.

[tiI am not slagging Fryatt in any way and i think he has a major part tp play , i just think we wil not see the best of Fryatt until he has had another pre season under his belt]
Fox You Forest Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 No, nice to have the option of calling on him from the bench though.
ScouseFox Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 No, go with Vaughan and Waghorn, like we've played in the last 2 and a half games, it's worked. Then bring him on if necessary. He didn't look 100% on Sunday, which was to be expected, so I don't think he should start.
Jay Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 I thought he bottled it on more than one occasion on Sunday (not really a surprise when you have just had your jaw smashed and had to eat through a straw for a month), but didn't look like he wanted to make any real challenges for headers, stood off them at times and seemed very apprehensive to me. He may be physically fit but didn't look anywhere near mentally fit to me

Bring Fryatt on with maybe 30 minutes to go, dpending on how the game is going.
00rawat Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 No because he is not fully fit which is going to be a bit of a negative for the team.
Katy Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 No I don't think we should, I think he should be our 'secret' weapon and come off the bench when Waggy gets knackered.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 Yes, but I'm biased and really rate the bloke probably higher than most other LCFC fans. Wouldn't be that disappointed if he doesn't start though because we have good options.

Jodranadinho Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 nope, definitely not 100% yet. Waghorn and Vaughan for me
Guest ttfn Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 I think he's one of the top 10 footballers in the division. His first touch and general football brain are absolutely superb. He's the runaway winner as brightest footballer in the side and up there with Gallagher in terms of technical ability. He's a better finisher than Waghorn and better positionally than the far more experienced Howard. I also don't think he 'bottled' the challenges on Sunday - I was surprised by how many he went for. At one point he won a flick on he had no right to. At no stage was Matty Fryatt a towering target man. But I still wouldn't start him, at least not in the first leg. I'd start with Vaughan and Waghorn, with Fryatt getting another 25 mins. Whatever the score is in the second leg (unless Vaughan's scored a hat trick in the first leg), I'd start Fryatt and Waghorn, and if we need a goal, get Howard on to partner Fryatt.
Ozwin Posted 4 May 2010 Posted 4 May 2010 He just had his jaw shattered and had to eat mank through a straw for 2 months, be fair, he's bound to be a bit fearful going in for headers. I wouldn't start him though, I'm guessing his fitness isn't the best just now (saying that he's got a whole week to sort that out) but he'd definately be great to come off the bench so long as he's playing up front and not on either wing like he was when he came on on Sunday, that was a strange one. I reckon he'd put a bit of fear in the other team's defence too because he's built up a bit of a reputation and with the loud 'du du du du Matty Fryatt' chant echo'ing around the Walkers you wouldn't want to be a Cardiff defender come Sunday afternoon. Anyway, another day down, 4 more to go.
carterfox90 Posted 5 May 2010 Posted 5 May 2010 Vaughan and Waghorn Every time yes defo those 2 fryatts ok to bring on if needed
