Dr Pop Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Don't shoot the messenger... Just heard that we (Cardiff) are getting an additional 1,000 tickets for Sunday's game due to segregation issues at the Walkers Stadium, taking our allocation to just over 3,000. http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10335~2045549,00.html Apparently Leicester wanted to segragate part of the away section and sell the additional area to home fans but the police wouldn't allow it, so we've now got the full away end. We don't have the same problem at the Cardiff City Stadium as we have movable barriers/segregation in our away end so your allocation remains at 2,000. Seems a bit unfair for you lot, but the police appear to be calling the shots here not the clubs.
Flynny Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Cheers for being adult and fair about it, sorry in anticipation of silly abuse ensuing anyway.
lcfcadam Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Any abuse will be directed at the pathetic authorities charged with "keeping us safe", as it always should be.
davieG Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Not surprising really it's hard for them to alter the segregation lines so any restriction would be just tit for tat plus we've still only sold 26k. 2000, 3000 it's hardly going to affect what happens on the pitch.
Craig Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Well if we weren't allowed to have our own fans sit there, we shouldn't have let them have them either. I know that isn't good business sense, but I don't care. We always bloody give in. No balls.
Ashley Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Cheers for the information however what a load of shit I hope Cardiff do the same for us (will they fook tho)
Shrenchel Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 What a load of old bollocks. Apparently Cardiff's stadium is designed in a way so that the away end can range from 2,000 to 3,500 if needed for FA Cup games without any segregation issues whatsoever. The dense ****** that designed our ground probably should have put more thought into that sort of thing rather than working out how they could make the fans as far away from the pitch as humanly possible.
Tommeh Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 That is absolute bollocks. Complete bottlejob by the Old bill or maybe it's the club fearing we won't sell it out?
Simi Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Should have stayed at 2k, that was the initial decision and probably the fairest. Cardiff have some decent away support that can defintley impact on the game, poor, poor choice from the Police and LCFC.
Granno Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Shambolic decision (apart from in a business sense). Our home support would be bad enough trying to outsing 2000, let alone another 1000.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Our ground was designed the same way down stairs the away end goes from 3,200 upwards though not 2,000 we have metal gates that close at the end of L1 and N kinda bollocks that cardiff wont let us have a bit extra though
Head Honcho Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 I'm pretty sure we'll get more tickets. They haven't sold out at anytime this season so I'll be surprised if the deal isn't reciprocated.
leftsideoverhere Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Well, maybe, but on Cardiff's website the big story about their home leg, is that they've CUT their prices. So they're clearly intent on selling their tickets to home fans, not to us.
Karljohn Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 I thought 24000 was a bit light yesterday and 26000 today, not much time left to shift another 4000 tickets so I am afraid this one looks like a club decision to give them another 1000 to ensure a further 25000 grand of income. There were Leicester fans sat in the away block against Boro and that passed off without trouble so to suggest this is police driven is absolute bollocks. Bring another 1000 welsh in to reduce the potential for trouble? doesn't sound like much logic behind that.

So they're clearly intent on selling their tickets to home fans, not to us. Just read that myself but they haven't dropped the prices by that much except in the family stand. I know what you mean though it does seem they're pulling out all the stops to get a full house for once!
Dr Pop Posted 6 May 2010 Author Posted 6 May 2010 I'm pretty sure we'll get more tickets. They haven't sold out at anytime this season so I'll be surprised if the deal isn't reciprocated. We sold out for both the Newcastle and Swansea games this season and I'm pretty sure we will do the same for Wednesday. Unfortunately the upper tier of our grandstand is a corporate area that looks just like normal seats but are actually for 'Premier Club' members and is usually less than a 3rd full due to the excessive prices they tried selling the seats for. They are allowing people to buy seats in that area for the Leicester game, but it's £65 a pop, so there will undoubtedly be some empty seats in that area, but the normal stands will all be sold out I'm sure. As I said, it's rough on you guys. I'm guessing LCFC would prefer to sell 1,000 seats to us rather than leave them unsold?
MC Prussian Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Put things into perspective. 3'200 to 32'500 is how much more percentage-wise than 2'000 to 26'800? That's provided Cardiff actually sell all their tickets for Sunday.

Karljohn Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 Cardiff fans have quite a rep for causing trouble though Therefore surely 2,000 are more manageable than 3,200?! Now hearing that some city fans have been getting emails urging them to buy more tickets for Sunday, having already bought theirs. Any ideas on how many you have sold Dr Pop?

Obviously I'm not going to get a ticket through general sale so the £65 option is the one that appeals to me. Although it wouldn't bother me sitting in the cheap seats I'm pretty sure I couldn't contain my excitement if we score so the prawn sandwich brigade seems the safer option.
AndyBrew Posted 6 May 2010 Posted 6 May 2010 well thats priceless, I've just gone to buy my tickets through the website as I normally do for me the wife and our lad probably been to about 15 home games this year, not a lot I know but its not cheap for a family so can't always afford it and the bloody website will only let me buy 2 thats spectacular Leicester absolutely spectacular :appl:
