Atmosphere

I love people arguing that everyone should move to the Kop. Why? The best atmosphere is in L1, fact. Makes lot more sense to keep adding to that, than trying a new plan altogether. Nearly everybody stands in L1, and it's brilliant. I had a season ticket in the Kop in the League One season, and the atmosphere was fucking atrocious. Mind you, I was a whole 8 or so rows down from the top - yet still forced to sit by the bellends around me.

Wow, that picture's a few years old, Ballack & Hargreaves in the Bayern team!

This debate comes up every few months and there isn't a solution that suits everyone. The club started the problem by moving the away section when the ground opened. They didn't want the away fans next to the Kop after all the coin throwing and general nastiness that often happened in the last couple of years at Filbo. They didn't anticipate that so many would move out of the Kop end and move into L, hence they tried the ST only plan to try and keep a lid on it.

You can't get people moving into N Block for some sort of additional singing section because the club only allows kids and their 'guardians' in there, it loves it's family atmosphere too much to sacrifice another section of the ground. The only way it would work - with the club's co-operation - would be to swap the South & North stands over and make what is now the Kop end families only. They won't do that though to avoid what I mentioned above. They don't want an atmosphere, just families spending money in the shop & bums on seats.

The problem I have with the current singing section is that they aren't loud enough. From the other end of the ground, you can't hear anything but a dull, distant thud of a drum and the singing you can hear fades half way through a song or involves so few people it may as well be the kids in N block doing "The Wheels On The Bus".

Like I said there's no winning solution. We can't agree on a solution, let alone getting the powers-that-be to come onside.

So the further up L1/K you are the better? From where I sat in the kop it seemed like more people stood the further up you went.

If K's full will J3 be alright to go, the stadium plan makes L1 and K look tiny?

Does that logic sit alright with you then? lol

The back few rows in J3 stand aswell

but like i said the more people that move to K1 the further down the standing will go and then it will just turn into another L1

then we wont just refere to the singing area as L1 it will be L & k

Serious consideration going on. I always sing at home but not many others do. Start quite a few chants away so the idea of everyone in the same area is pretty tempting. I suppose its people like and my mates (3 of us that have got our season tickets) that all add up to a few hundred adding to the atmosphere.

If L1 has sold out why don't the people who want to go over there go into K? Obviously not everyone is going to get in L1 because there are not enough seats, so if everyone then goes in K join in the atmosphere from L1, build the atmosphere round block by block. :dunno:

To be fair K is even more expensive than L, you're looking a pretty significant increase in price from the kop, could understand why people wouldn't want it.

Think there's a bit of life left in the kop yet personally, it's a kids club but it's still louder than L/K when it occasionally gets going.

I dunno if you got your ST before or after all seats were reserved for current ST holders, but if you got it before, then it might be worth checking now.

Me and my 2 mates didn't renew and we were right near the top of L1, and i'm sure a few others wouldn't have renewed, so there might be a few available there. Worth a shot.

Me and my mate had season tickets on the top row of K. It was brilliant you would love it. Because we wont be in Leicester next year we havnt renewed our seats so there are two spare.

when can you buy season tickets?

ticket office.

I dont think theres an argument as to wheres better .people just need to agree on our 'kop'.

Y ou have to admit that it sometimes sounds quite wank when L1 and the sk's are singing different songs.

Our 'Kop' is L & K

The south stand is an ambarressment to the old Spion Kop at Filbert Street

If you haven't sat in both L1 and the south stand then i dont think you can comment on which is better really

Do it mate

K is pretty much just as good as L1

you don't want to be the last person singing and standing in the kop, so do it before everyone else does

next season will be my 6th in L1 and i seriously have never looked back, it has got better every season

that's gonna end up being me.

not being a season ticket holder I have sat in both areas and I have to say the L1 area certainly seems to be more lively than the kop, for those that have been in the kop at filbo neither compare :(

the games I've been to there's never a continual bout of singing it seems to peter out very quickly :dunno:

Not for under 18's :P

Also considering the switch from kop to L/K/J

each to thier own then. But one thing i do remember is the first game at the walkers against watford, i sat in the south stand. When everyone started singing i remember thinking feckin hell, this is good. :trumpet:

Let's be honest, so is L/K. Ive gone in H1 with my old man a few times and the majority of the time you can hear fvck all apart from Jobber's drum.

It's a good laugh when you're amongst it and definitely the best place to go but most the time there's only about 500 singing, if that.

yeah i agree but it's still better than the south stand

i sat in the west stand for the reading home game and i didnt really hear much from L1 either, but when you are in the middle of it it is better than anywhere else in the ground
