BrummieFOX Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 you don't want to be the last person singing and standing in the kop, so do it before everyone else does next season will be my 6th in L1 and i seriously have never looked back, it has got better every season that's gonna end up being me. I actually think that the 'Kop' has improved this season, most likely down to good form and our position in the league, but towards the end of the season there were decent groups of people standing at the back and some good songs going (esp when winning). I really hope this continues next year and we get more standing. I sit about 4 rows from the back and cant remember the last time I sat at home. I must admit though I have not sat/stood in L1.
Ozwin Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 It costs a bit more in L1/K/J doesn't it? That's probably people's biggest turn off from it.
Alexikokopops Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 It costs a bit more in L1/K/J doesn't it? That's probably people's biggest turn off from it. Yeah, the Kop is one of the cheaper areas (apart from the "Just The Ticket" seats)

Floating Fox Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 each to thier own then. But one thing i do remember is the first game at the walkers against watford, i sat in the south stand. When everyone started singing i remember thinking feckin hell, this is good. I was at the recent watford home game and it was terrible sitting in the middle of the "kop" even though we won 4-1 or something like that. Never again!

Walkers Wench Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 thinking about season tickets this year for us we like to sit as close to the noise as possible where's the best place within the kop to ensure we don't get stuck with a bunch of happy clappers all season? next to me !
Floating Fox Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Never again but you came at least once after that? I meant never again will i sit in the middle of the "kop". The back of it is just about doable.
Jodranadinho Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 as a season ticket holder in the kop the atmosphere is what you call... non-exsistent. whenever a song is started the other side of the kop just starts singing another and it sounds awful. if everyone was to sing the same song, which shouldnt be too hard to ask for it'd sound alot better and maybe just a tad noiser. the kop is mainly full of people of the past back when the old spoin kop was at its prime.-with there flask in one hand and programme in the other. something HAS to change moan over

Bettsj2 Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Clock some of the decent original efforts in here and learn them. I personally think a mass migration of all the standers/singers in the South Stand to N Block (thereby surrounding the away fans with L1/K on the other side) would do more for the atmosphere than anything else. However, I recognise that this is sadly highly unlikely due to the obsession that some folks have with the South Stand being a direct descendant of the Filbo Kop. That's not to say I don't think those in the South Stand are incapble of creating an atmosphere - the last couple of times I've been in there were actually surprisingly quite good. But in terms of creating a better atmosphere I feel they should all be concentrated in one or two blocks from the back all the way down to the front rather than spreading themselves along the back few rows of a whole stand. Just a case of simple logistics really. I had a season ticket in Pen 2 of the Kop at the back and have to say the atmosphere was nothing to write home about. Basically surrounded by a bunch of teenagers saying one minute that Fryatt's crap, then Wellens is crap, then Brown is crap etc etc etc Songs are completely unoriginal and this is unlikely to change. I'm not sure how chants and songs used to come about at Filbo, but however it did, the same hasnt been transfered to the Walkers.
taffyfox Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 I know it was a MASSIVE game, but the 2600 of us that were at Cardiff were LOUD. My Mate is a ST holder at Cardiff and said that was the loudest away following he had heard at thier new ground. Proves it can be done! Cant we have a CARDIFF AWAY BLOCK opened for the first home game so we can congregate again?! As said before...we do have pockets of standers and singers but far too sporadic. The club need to help us congregate but they wont.

Dan Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Swap the Kop with the family stand. Only thing that will work, and it won't happen, so there we go.
lcfc"weasel" Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Swap the Kop with the family stand. Only thing that will work, and it won't happen, so there we go. Completely agree but we have to try, there's no point moaning about the atmosphere unless we are prepared to do something ourselves. Obviously swapping the two ends of the ground would be the perfect solution however, it's very unlikely to happen so therefore other methods of improving the atmosphere have to be taken.
The Doctor Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 wrong thread. no it isn't. The thread title clearly says Atmosphere new songs for next season. It's just turned into yet another debate about moving the kop
