Ash Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Possibly the four best players weve had in our squad this season(I dont mean form wise i mean overall), Im worried that none of them will be here the start of next season.. Waghorn - For obvious reasons, Sunderland keeping him as part of there 1st team squad Fryatt - Might have few Prem/Relegated Prem teams sniffing around him. Hobbs - So ive heard, Stoke bound. Tunchev - Knee is gone, Retire. So IF all four of these players didnt play again for us, What the hell are we gunna do ?! Accept it and be a average Championship team? Or you think Milan will give Pearson £3-4m to spend on new players? Cheers.
Maybes Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Quite how you've labelled Tunchev as one of the best four players when he's barely set foot on the pitch over the last one and half seasons is beyond me? Bruno Berner has been awesome this season and deserves a mention. I would imagine Pearson wont sign a new deal unless he gets a decent salary and some money to spend in the summer so we can challenge in the top half again. Oh and I cant see Fryatt leaving for another Championship club or any of our top rated players tbh.
AndyBrew Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 I can't see Waghorn being overly successful in the premier league same with fryatt I think most half decent defences would have these two in their pockets to be honest. I can't see Hobbs going to Stoke unless its purely for the wages but I would like to think he would see a bigger picture
Narborough_fox Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Tunchev won't retire it may take until October as they aren't rushing him back but he is NOT retiring! Hobbs and Fryat are defiantly staying, Waghorn we'll wait and see!
LCFC-ARAB Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Can't see Fryatt going as for hobbs Stay at Leicester and become a hero, or go to stoke and just turn into a nobody? can't see waggy playing for us again and i just hope tunchev gets fit
Narborough_fox Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Oh and Tunchs knee hasn't gone he damaged a different one!
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 I'd be very surprise if a player of Hobbs quality would moved to Stoke. Surely he's got the potential of playing at a spurs or Villa. He's very young, he rushed it once and I think he learned his lesson. He will play at the top, provided he stays fit. Long time left in the game for the boy, and lots to acheive. Fryatt needs at least one more year at this level, especially after his injury.I think he knows that too. Tunch is an outstanding player who was rushed back the last time.We have a good medical team who should be ables to get him back. Waghorn, was excellent for us this year, we had the money to suggest a possible bid for him, which sunderland immediately squashed. If he doesnt come back immediately, I trust Nige to have a few back up options to fill the role he played this year, maybe better it. If he isnt brought back this summer could be a option later this year if he cant get into there side.
Ash Posted 16 May 2010 Author Posted 16 May 2010 Im like you lot i HATE stupid rumours about players moving here and people making up lies about our club, But i can honestly say i know for a FACT! Stoke are interested in Jack Hobbs, Im not saying theyve put a bid in or hes defo off, but watch this space....He is too good for Championship level and could quite easily get in Stokes team. Also with Tunchev, Lets be honest most footballers that have done there knee ligaments (Twice) have never been the same again.... I cant see him being 100% again.
Bert Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Why do people think Hobbs was made captain over Howard on Wednesday? Stoke have had Hobbs watched a few times now. We don't want to lose him, and giving him the armband is a big indication of how we rate him. Another thing what i will say is, Hobbs moved for first team football, and at the monute if he did move to Stoke, they have more established central defenders than Hobbs. Shawcross, Huth, Faye.
Edmund Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 It was also reported in a paper recently that Stoke were sniffing around. The only way I can see us selling Hobbs is if we receive an offer that's to good to turn down. Hobbs doesn't strike me as the type of player who would negotiate a move via his agent. He's also come out many times and stated that he's grateful to Leicester for giving him the opportunity of first team football and more importantly the progress he's made as a player having Nigel as a mentor. Saying that you also have to consider wether Mandy would sell our main assets as at the end of the day the buck stops with him. To be fair to Stoke a Shawcross/Hobbs CB pairing would be immense and could quite easily be a future England CB pairing. Let's hope he's still here next season though.

dimmerchant Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 What are we going to do when McGivern and Neilson go to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively? We will have lost the core of this team. Can't name my sauce either cause there is 57 of them, soz.

dimmerchant Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 The only Heinze I know plays in France. I know one who works on the Customer Service desk at Aldi. Mate of my step-sister's, husband's, dad's mum. Good mate of mine.
Bryn Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 I don't think Hobbs would get in the Stoke team, Huth and Shawcross are both pretty good.
Bugg Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 I don't think Hobbs would get in the Stoke team, Huth and Shawcross are both pretty good. My mates who support Stoke all seem to think Abdoulaye Faye is good aswell.
CKB Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 I'd like to think Hobbs will stay I'd like to think Hobbs thinks there is unfinished business here I'd like to think that with the whole of the core squad (King, Fryatt, etc)

Why would anyone leave Leicester to join them? Hobbs- Stoke Tunchev- Is apparentley returning.
Fox92 Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Theres no point in Hobbs joining Stoke, thats not a step up. Well, technically it is, but not the step up Hobbs would want, surely?
Jay Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 I've said for a while we are going to have to fight to keep Hobbs if we didn't go up, but he has been there and done it when it comes to big clubs and sat in their reserves. I'm sure he himself can see more benefit in his development by playing 40+ first team games in the championship
