harpendenfox Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 doesn't the obvious quality that Hobbs possesses make Liverpool's decision to sell him look absurd? It tells us all we need to know about Liverpool's problems.
Tommeh Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 I've been well informed that if Hobbs were to potentially leave for the premiership, there is a clause in his contract meaning Liverpool have 1st option on him.
Sods Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Think we will be alright with Hobbs, he has stated he wants to give something back to the club. Not suprised about the interest were going to get it all summer, one more season in the championship and the lad will be unreal.
dandannieldanok Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Stoke I wouldn't want to go to Stoke even if I was playing non-league football never mind championship. If Hobbs goes, hopefully it'll be to a decent club, he can do better that Stoke.
Scow Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 The only thing holding Hobbs back is his distribution - he carries the ball well at times, but can be quite erratic with his general passing. However, I think he's improved in this area.
Koke Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 I have no love for Stoke, but it would be a significant step up for Hobbs. Stoke look like they've established themselves in the Prem and they are a work in progress. Also, Tony Pulis have a fetish for big strong centre halves - Hobbs fit that criteria. Him and Shawcross would be an immense partnership. I wouldn't rule this rumour out.
Bert Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 Stoke I wouldn't want to go to Stoke even if I was playing non-league football never mind championship. If Hobbs goes, hopefully it'll be to a decent club, he can do better that Stoke. Get a grip.

teblin Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 The problem is every player has a price. I don't want him to leave but if we get an offer 3 mill + he will be off.
Carlos9 Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 I've just been speaking to a Sunderland fan at my work and he says that he is looking forward to seeing Waghorn play. He says that he is rated highly their as a player coming through and he wouldn't be happy if he was moved on. He said that he heard they wouldn't let him go for nothing less than 5 mill. Don't know how much truth is in this but if its true then there is no chance of buying him! Maybe another loan with a return clause would be the only?
milan_foxes Posted 20 May 2010 Posted 20 May 2010 Fryatt to Stoke 2.5million. Just passing info from a mate of mine... could see likely now that Beattie's on his way to West Brom for 2 million.
Guest Posted 20 May 2010 Posted 20 May 2010 Fryatt to Stoke 2.5million. Just passing info from a mate of mine... could see likely now that Beattie's on his way to West Brom for 2 million. If this is true a) That's a bit low IMO, if he were to go I'd think it'd be more than that, and b) Stoke??? are their scouts actually looking at any other teams than ours? I don't think he'll go anyway tbh
milan_foxes Posted 20 May 2010 Posted 20 May 2010 Even though I said it, I dont think he will, but it was just how in the same day Beattie looks like he's off.
milan_foxes Posted 20 May 2010 Posted 20 May 2010 Who's this mate of yours then? Reliable? I dont speak to him much but he knows i'm a big City fan and it must be a little bit true for him to contact me about it.
foxfanazer Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 I can see why Stoke would be interested in hobbs. Him and shawcross in defence would be a tight unit. As for fryatt, i think he knows he can make more of a name for himself here and go down as a city legend. also i think berner has to be up there as one of our best players this season. Hope we dont try to sign mcgivern. Hope we get waggy for another season but depends on who bruce signs in the summer. Credit to chris weale who overall has been quality this season barring a couple of mistakes (which happens to even the top keepers).
Jimmy Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 I dont speak to him much but he knows i'm a big City fan and it must be a little bit true for him to contact me about it. or he wants to wind you up as most City fans hero worship Fryatt
milan_foxes Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 or he wants to wind you up as most City fans hero worship Fryatt Would your mates do that to you then Jimmy?
Jimmy Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Would your mates do that to you then Jimmy? seeing as most of them are Manchester United "fans" they can't as lets face it any rumour of 1 of our squad going there is bound to be bullshit
Ozwin Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 seeing as most of them are Manchester United "fans" they couldn't name a single Championship team, let alone name a Championship player
Carlos9 Posted 24 May 2010 Posted 24 May 2010 seeing as most of them are Manchester United "fans" and they can't even say an English word let alone Matty Fryatt
