Fu ck Iain Hume. Can't stand him or the pathetic love-fest he is STILL receiving from our fans. The game away at Barnsley last season has to rank as one of the most depressingly embarrassing experiences of my entire life. Iain Hume, a Barnsley player playing AGAINST our club, getting more encouragement and cheers than our own players. Not only that, the move resulting in the corner being won for Barnsley's goal and the taking of the corner was given rapturous renditions of "HUUUUUUUUUUUUUME" from our own fans. Disgrace.

I'm glad we've no longer got him, and I'll be over the bastard moon when he ****s off out of the English leagues altogether so I never have to witness such moronic stupidity ever again.

Agree about the embarrassing scenes at Barnsley. Disgrace.

Hume - Nice bloke, headless chicken - No thanks

He soon pissed off, when the chips were down, if he scored a few more goals we would of not gone down.

how on earth can people slate hume saying hes shite,

when he wore the leicester shirt he gave 100% which many didnt

scored some cracking goals and some important goals

he was the best of a bad bunch yh i agree,

but with better player around him his class would have shone through

he would still get in our team he would give us more creativity if used in midfield

would be a great option if he was on the bunch

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I completely agree. He was a one man army, with ten cretins around him. He gave 100% always. Great player.

If I got a chance to play for City Id give 100% - doesnt make me a good player either He "gave 100%" til we got relegated then couldnt get away fast enough

Hardly a "class" player to be fair

If I remember correctly wasn't that the problem? He was being used in midfield way too much when he clearly couldn't play there.

we couldnt afford to keep him, he was 1 of the big earners at the club

He said he would stay, he didn't... he bottled it. He could've stayed and helped us regain a Championship spot, seeing as he was part of the crap we had to put up with for many mediocre seasons.

Don't get me wrong, he did give 100% for us and he was our best player, but that really wasn't hard.

I don't see how we couldn't afford to keep him? I don't think we were in that bad of a financial state where we had to sell our players were we? :dunno:

100% agree.

A player that was part of the fist ever side to get relegated to league 1, and then left. Not only did he leave, but he left to another club that were looking a relegation.

The reception he got home and away was poor, considering he isn't a "class"player.

I'd boo him but it sounds like "Huuuuuuume".

Not my type of player, and never will be. Fully dislike the man.

Some ridiculous posts in this thread!

I guarantee very few (if any) of the people slating Hume right now were actually pleased when he left. Everyone was completely gutted, he gave his all every single game for us, so why do people now dislike him so much?? Does anyone actually know for sure if he demanded to be allowed to leave the club? Generally when a team gets relegated the vultures circle around their better players, regerdless of whether they have expressed their desire to leave or not, could be the case here.

I agree that he was merely the best of a bad bunch the season we were relegated, he would however still be a very good squad player for us even with the vastly improved side NP has put together. After seeing his performances for us, and seeing him recover from the horrific injury he suffered not too long ago, I have nothing but respect for the bloke. He was a good player, he's still a good player. Anyone who disagrees is wrong :P

I geniunely was not gutted to see Hume leave. I always said that he was the best of a bad bunch, I always said that he was over rated. We grew to love him because he was all we had to love. I got slated for saying I was happy to see the back of Hume and MaCauley.

Hume wasn't shite, but he was never a good player. He was just above average at best. He tried to do everything on his own which would usually end up in him running into 3 defenders and losing the ball or trying a stupid 60 yard pass to no one and losing the ball. I agree that he always gave 100% when on the ptch but he'd be no where near the first 11 now.

Someone also mentioned that We shouldn't slate him as he maybe would have flourished under Pearson like Fryatt has. Maybe Fryatt flourished because Hume left. Often when they played up front together Fryatt would be used as Humes target man, which of course he blatently isnt! Hume would often go on a wonder a leave his strike partner isolated and then do one of the 2 things I've mentioned above.

As for the reasons for leaving us, they're a little cloudy, although it does seem like he jumped ship. He doesn't deserve the hate some people are giving out but he certainly doesn't deserve the love he used to get and still gets now from some. He does gain some repsect for the effort he gave while playing for us but that's about it

The reason everybody started disliking him, was because a week after we got relegated from the championship, he was in the paper saying he'd stick with Leicester and help us get promotion again, the two weeks later he handed in a transfer request and jumped ship. Wether Pearson asked him to leave (which a can't see happening as he was our best player at the time, and if we didnt offload dj, why would we have got rid of Hume) or he left of his own accord, he still let the fans down.
