I reckon that although he run around like a loon, he was actually a little bit crap and massively overrated. he was however a beacon of light in a massive shower of shite at the time

I bet he would but you have to ask the questions a) Would we be where we've got this season with him playing for us and b) Would he have even got a look in on the bench letalone the team if he was here compared with the players we have.

Don't get me wrong when he was here he was good, probably one of our better players, but what does that tell you? He was just the best of a bad bunch.

After we went down and Hume was sold I said this to so many other people, and I said the same about MaCauley, and I got shot down!

We grew to love these players because they were all we had to love but I doubt he'd get anywhere near the starting 11 now

Agreed, rather like Robbie Savage in the Peter Taylor era.

He had one hell of a long shot on him, there's no doubt about that.

I think people saying that he was crap are being harsh.

ran around like a twat, left his strike partner isolated and sulked when he was asked to play on the wing, Better off without him

Some people seem to have pretty short memories.

Ok so maybe Hume wouldn't be starting week in week out with the side that we have now but when he was here he always gave his best, never stopped trying and scored some important goals as well.

For people to say he was crap is well wide of the mark in my opinion. He managed a decent return of goals in the championship each year he was with us in a poor team. In the same period Fryatt ended three seasons with 6,4 and 3 goals and people were writing him off. Look at what he has done since! Whose to say that Hume wouldn't also have flourished in the set up we have now.

Personally i'll always remember Humey as a good player in his time down here and give him a good reception when he comes back!

Completely agree Humey was unlucky in that he played in a very poor City team. You know what, I don't think even he would have made our starting eleven.

always liked hume gave his all never stopped trying and got time for any player willing to do that no he wudnt get in our starting eleven now but to say his crap is madness would be happy if he was part of the squad nw and would welcome him back with open arms tbh

Harsh short memories/sour grapes going on here. Scored around 15 a season with zero service, he's hardly crap. Some of the reason he was chasing all the time was due to the fact that he was basically left on his own by the midfield. He'd not have got in the team ahead of Fryatt or Waghorn but he'd get in after them. He was also a decent target man despite being half a foot fucking shorter than most defenders as well.

He's not a world beater but a bit of respect for a bright spark in some shit seasons would be nice. Without him we'd have been relegated seasons ago, before Mandy bought the club and perhaps sending us over the edge financially.
