Rocket-Ron Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 The thumb in Blaby on sat. Apparently it,s getting a new “MEGA” digital projector for the world cup. Apparently!!
Uncle Albert Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 I was thinking on going down the local in Barrow, The Boat House but now the temptation of town on a Saturday night is looking the more likely option so maybe The Gallery in Loughborough, heard good things about it for England matches.
JimmyK Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 The Terrace Bar, Dunedin, New Zealand Right hemisphere, wrong timezone, that said, 6am's not *too* bad.
marbelladave Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Home, tempory one in Harrow on the Hill that is. So far I have managed to organise Mrs M to visit her mother this weekend and arrange a girlie night out next Friday, so that is the first two England games totally sorted. For the rest I work part time, mostly at home, so as long as I get a bit done during the mornings the daytime games will be fine. The best of the evening games I shall watch live, leaving Mrs M with the laptop and iPlayer, the rest I shall record. The plasma has a built in hard drive and twin tuners, so all our regular recordings can be made as usual on our regular PVR, then I can watch the game delayed 'as live' later that evening when Mrs M has gone to bed for a read. So this weekend is beer, ready to eat curry and a big screen TV. Given that my local (very civilised) pub is a football free zone and most of the rest, down the hill in surrounding areas are pretty crap, this is by far the best option.

MC Prussian Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 At home mostly. For the Switzerland games, I'll be going to one of the many Public Viewing zones in Zurich.
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 I’m not one for planning, but fortunately fortune has smiled her lovely smile at me and missus has buggered off to the Isle of White festival leaving the first 4 days of the World Cup (and more importantly my house) a moan free, woman free zone. So it’s BBQ Tomorrow beginning at 11am as we’ve got the mother of all FIFA 2010 tournaments going on on the Xbox, 14 participants, followed by the game, more than likely in my house. Friday nights game is my mates B day so will be out anyway. Not decided about the Wednesday game. Got the second week off as the 3pm England game took priority having the first week off to get the most out of the 12.30 kicks, will be watching every game 2nd week. I will catch about 25 minutes of the 12.30’s in my lunch break, early finishes will be needed to make second halfs of the 15:00. Girlfriend has insisted that she “will watch” the world cup but I know how this works, with women they get bored very quickly with games not involving England, but until the novelty wears off evening games wont be a problem, which hopefully will be extended due to the fact she’s missing the first 4 days. One way or the other I’m watching them all where and how will depend.
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Oh, and is anyone going Walkabout to watch South Afirca Mexico?
Edmund Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Oh, and is anyone going Walkabout to watch South Afirca Mexico? Yep, was planning on popping in for a pint or two.
Fosse Boy Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 In a marquee with a bunch of drunk students in tuxedos. Surreal.
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Yep, was planning on popping in for a pint or two. I can't remember if I know you or not
Edmund Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 I can't remember if I know you or not Nope I've never met you. I didn't go to Walkabout in the end. Ended up in a pub near De Montfort Uni.
Webbo Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 I'm going to a BBQ. Tbh though I prefer to watch on my own, am I the only one?
Fosse Boy Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 I believe the Algerian Consulate in Harborough is putting on some kind of reception on Friday.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Massive party in the Algerian quarter of Harborough so will probably watch it there
Fosse Boy Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Massive party in the Algerian quarter of Harborough so will probably watch it there Hope you've got a spare Water Cannon hanging around. Us England fans are invading in numbers apparently...
Alexikokopops Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 My parents are popping down to stay at my sister's for Father's Day weekend. I'm popping along with the missus, so it'll be a nice family viewing round my sister's gaff.
Tilley Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 I don't know what to do about Wednesday. Our place is shutting at 2.45 to allow the kids (and more importantly us staff ) enough time to get somewhere for kick off. Soar Point is tempting as it is pretty close to work, not sure I want to be in a pub should we go out though...... Might just go home straight from work and watch it there.
