Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Found this due to my playing City of Heroes, a video using the game engine for City of Heroes (it's called machinima folks!) for a minor indie band, but I thought this was great fun, very well done and a great tune. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNCUyQVfNf8&feature=feedrec_grec_index
I am Rod Hull Posted 4 February 2011 Posted 4 February 2011 Going to see them Greatest Hits concert in Sherwood Fotest in June Lucky gitt..
Bellend Sebastian Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 I don't care if it sounds like Cyndi Lauper, I think it's triffic
Bellend Sebastian Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 Sounds nothing like Cyndi Lauper. You've clearly not got to the chorus. Girls just wanna have fun? Well of course they do
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 You mean it sounds like Girls Just Want To Have Fun in the chorus. She sounds nothing like Cyndi, and I for one am grateful for small mercies.
ajthefox Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 not exactly a video, but a quality song and it's on youtube.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btQKGvVRnZ8 Albums gonna be huuuuuuuge
Zingari Posted 5 February 2011 Posted 5 February 2011 i'd just like to add a little tribute to the early pioneers of rock n roll , so here's Gary U.S. Bonds - Quarter To Three not too sure about the dodgy haircut , and that girl going crazy on the dance floor is probably rocking in a rocking chair now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdrMIqqdcnw&feature=player_embedded#
Bellend Sebastian Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 You mean it sounds like Girls Just Want To Have Fun in the chorus. She sounds nothing like Cyndi, and I for one am grateful for small mercies. You're beasts, the pair of you. Do you like it?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 You're beasts, the pair of you. Do you like it? Not really - sounds like it would be used for a really annoying mobile phone or bank TV ad.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 6 February 2011 Posted 6 February 2011 Not really - sounds like it would be used for a really annoying mobile phone or bank TV ad. You should play it on your radio show. DO IT
Bellend Sebastian Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Well I did - I played it Were the phonelines jammed? Do you have phone lines? Do you like it more now you've heard it twice? Thank you, I didn't get to listen yesterday but I liked what I heard last week and will tune in again, for sure. Allo Darlin' are to me the acceptable face of a genre I don't actually like that much, the 'indie-pop' scene. I saw them last week in Cambridge and had a great time - they play (pretty well actually) with a smile on their face and have much better tunes than a lot of their contemporaries
Trav Le Bleu Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 I did like it a little more and said so... you crafty rascal you!
Zingari Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance Silver moon's sparkling wonderful !!!
Zingari Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Sounds a bit like Cyndi Lauper to me. personally , i thought that " allo darlin" song sounded more like Amy Macdonald but nowhere near as good
Trav Le Bleu Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 Not like Cyndi, but I've always thought that they were a pale immitation of these... Like this? Hear this kind of thing and much more 6-8pm Sunday Evenings at www.Roguesradio.com

Zingari Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 my attempt to highlight the original aspirations of a multi cultural society do we live in a "blue mink melting pot" or are we just chopped up ingredients scattered around on the worktop ?
