Group C permutations for final game.

A bit of a logistical nightmare don't you think?

FIFA bang on about fair play but in reality it counts for little. There is a strong moral argument that disciplinary records should replace penalty shoot outs (entertaining as they are) but I understand that fans might be reluctant to accept this change.

However, as an alternative to drawing lots to determine who goes through to the knock out phase the case for taking into account the number of yellow and red cards issued is compelling particularly when you consider that theoretically it is possible all the teams in a group to be dead level on all criteria at the end of the round robin stage.

No way.

The refereeing is hopelessly inconsistent from game to game, as we have already seen.

Corners for and against, % possession, anything game related is better than red/yellow cards or drawing lots.

definately. Would like to see the situation where if everything is tied they go on the total number of shots in the group stage to seperate them. Then we might see some more attacking play in the games opening up space and making it more of a spectacle for the viewer.

The only real way to resolve the deadlock would be for a fight to take place. Each team submits it's hardest player, they then go up to 12 rounds of boxing to determine the winner.

Can't believe it's not already been implemented.

Great idea, but it should be the managers going at it...

I would pay real money to see someone give Madona a slap!

Bit unfair to bring Madonna into the proceedings, but to be fair, she deserves a slap anyway.

lol

The shots thing is not a bad idea but I think it should be shots on target else you could get teams who know they might be deadlocked just shooting from everywhere 50 yards plus in the last group game! The team with the most shots on target would be quite a fair way to solve the problem. It's certainly fairer than drawing lots.

I think a mod is messing with your posts cos they both say Madona! Does it say Maradona at your end? If so they have some special powers if they can make it look different on your ip only!

What a tasty quarter final against the Argies that could be.

The memory of that '98 match, the first world cup i remember are still as clear as yesterday in my mind.

Going to be very tough to get there but with Maradona coaching them aswell it's just a mouth watering prospect.
