GLC Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 What the hell are you doing to this club? In 2007 you were seen as our saviour! someone to take us back to the promised land. But all you've done so far is turn this club into a laughing stock! 8 managers (soon to be the 9th) in 3 years, relegation to league 1. The past 2 years have been amazing for all leicester fans due to 1 person! NIGEL PEARSON! Now he's leaving because you wont back him in the transer market. Tbh though you only really backed 1 person with your millions and that was Martin Allen who wasted the money you gave him Nigel pearson hasn't had a lot of money to spend, fair enough he purchased Jack Hobbs and Richie Wellens for a combined price of over a million (maybe more?) Please get someone in and let him do his job!

GLC Posted 28 June 2010 Author Posted 28 June 2010 So would i, but if he can't afford to keep the club, find someone else to buy it off him!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 The guys nothing but a c****. Said it all the time he's been here. In my eyes he's the one that started the whole Portsmouth administration fiasco. With Harry Redknapp and him buying all these class players, such as Crouch Defoe, Muntari. He's got to go.

If the money isn't there MM or anyone else can't do anything about it. They have stated we are looking for investment, until that happens we will need to run a tight ship and not be held to ransom by any manager no matter how good they are.
Babylon Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 With Harry Redknapp and him buying all these class players, such as Crouch Defoe, Muntari. Errrrr was he not already out chairman when they were signed.
stevec Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 "What the hell are you doing to this club?" "The past 2 years have been amazing for all leicester fans" "But all you've done so far is turn this club into a laughing stock! " Not understanding the logic especially as we can only assume leaving Leicester is Pearsons choice not because MM has told him to go. "Now he's leaving because you wont back him in the transer market." Do we know that? Plus if we have a budget then its what we can afford, do we want administration because a manager won't stay unless we put ourselves even deeper in the red? So personally cannot see that as the reason especially as Hull have no better budget, and surely Pearson is not stupid. Personally hes just sticking two fingers up at Milan "for other reasons" or we are bordering financial meltdown and he knows it. "Nigel pearson hasn't had a lot of money to spend" "fair enough he purchased Jack Hobbs and Richie Wellens for a combined price of over a million (maybe more?)" For clubs at our level these are significant purchases in 1 summer?
ian the fox Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Milan could give back some of his 3 million a year wages that he has reaped from the club , although that never gets a mention in his figures

No matter how many times you say it, it's going in one ear and out the other with most people I'm afraid. This move is purely due to Pearson wanting security in the transfer market and security in his own personal wage, unfortunately because he's a god in many fans eyes that they need someone else to blame for this move. Mandaric's hands are pretty much tied, he offered Pearson a deal and Pearson refused it. There's nothing Mandaric can do. I don't like the bloke, but he shouldn't take flak for this episode.
Babylon Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Milan could give back some of his 3 million a year wages that he has reaped from the club , although that never gets a mention in his figures Ha ha what is it make up a story day. And where exactly do you get this from?

mancunianfox Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Laughing stock is a bit of an over reaction really isn't it. In the relegation season we were, but we recovered from it really well. We might be losing our manager to another club after two very good seasons, its not an unusual situation. There are clubs travelling around with big tops far larger than ours.
mancunianfox Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 Also to say that our success over the last two seasons is because of just one person is an absolute joke. I suppose that the efforts of Fryatt, King, Morrison, Hobbs, Weale, Waghorn, Tunchev, Howard, Wellens, Berner etc. where inconsequential. Managers come and go...the club is a better position now than when Pearson took the job. It is sad that he wants to leave but that is his decision. We will get a new manager who might be as good, might be worse or might be better...life goes on.

They have stated we are looking for investment, until that happens we will need to run a tight ship and not be held to ransom by any manager no matter how good they are. If Milan hasn't got sufficient funds to run a Championship football club with an adequate budget for players and a manager then he probably shouldn't have bought one. It's impossible to say whether we'd be in a better or worse position if he'd never got the club, but that doesn't mean he can be regarded as blameless for buying it, making a load of promises about getting to the premiership in 3 years and then deciding he hasn't actually got the cash to support it properly.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 This from Ian Stringer Just spoke to Milan Mandarich "I'm working tirelessly to keep Nigel Pearson at LCFC, the decision is his and only his, I fear it's too late"

Well he has got sufficient funds, he did offer Pearson a pay-rise. From what we've all read, the sticking point sounds like transfer budget and the magnitude of that pay-rise, not that the club is spiralling into debt and having to sell all it's best assets. There is a difference. Obviously I could be wrong and you right, but that's what it appears to me as.

More fool you for believing that then, every chairman or manager makes promises like that when they take over. If Holloway hadn't had got the club relegated the three year plan might have happened. Milan did back both Allen and Holloway well financially during that season. They wasted the money on players who weren't good enough or weren't right for the club and we are still paying for some of those mistakes three years later. Pearson used less money much better and would probably take us up given a higher budget. However if the money isn't there it isn't there. My biggest criticism of Mandaric is how he hasn't taken the club forward off of the pitch which is really his responsibility. Football clubs should not just be relying on loans from their rich owners but looking at ways of actually making money themselves. Our attendances have remained largely static and we are hardly seeing an increase in revenues either.

From a lot of the rumours that are going around it looks like Milan has been dragging his feet over wages for loan signings and free transfers. If you haven't even got the cash for freebies then the budget clearly isn't sufficient and although Pearson will severely piss all over the fans by walking out, I can see why he wouldn't want to stick around in that situation.

Yes and if you employ a monkey like Martin Allen and entrust him with a huge chunk of the cash you're going to invest in the football club, then its your responsibility as well when he completely fvcks it up.

Did he promise we'd be in the premier league, I can't remember that. The only promise I remember was to leave us in a better state than we were... which we arguably currently are. We have an adequate budget for players and a manager. We currently have a decent team do we not? The league is littered with clubs who have tight budgets or who need to move people on before they can buy, Pearson seems to think he shouldn't have to work within those constraints.
DeclanMC Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 First pearson, now (allegedly) the Birch? What is happening to our club? I realise Pearson has always been efficient on his public statements to the press, but something about his character just seems to tell me he is loyal to his current employers, and I think he really does like it at Leicester. I think something must have really gone wrong, either in contract negotiations or the transfer market (bear in mind we don't know he hasn't got any money to spend) for him to consider leaving. Not going to get into a judas vibe a la Owen Coyle, but Pearson is a clever man, and Hull must be the best option to escape from whatever has gone on at Leicester between him and Milan.

Daggers Posted 28 June 2010 Posted 28 June 2010 If you are local, if you bleed Leicester colours, then all I ask is that you run it sensibly, control the costs and be nice to the fans with offers and pricing. Any success on the pitch is a bonus because we can all be pragmatic about the situation. This is not applicable to Mandaric. He swanned in with declarations of love for the club, us supporters and how he was going to issue in a period of success. He swanned in and cocked everything up from the off. His business accumen resulted in him wasting club money on Youtube foreigners while his management skills resulted in him beig unable to spot, employ and keep a succession of managers...wasting more club money. He doesn't get judged by local owner standards in my book - he gets judged on his false promises and ineptitude. I'm not after an open cheque book, all I want from him is aptitude todohe job and deliver on his undertakings. He's failed. Look at him now, trying to claim that he is attempting to get Pearson to stay when in reality he is negotiating the settlement from Hull. Ole' Milan Mendacious has been here too long. It's long gone time to piss off...
