Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Milan Mandaric has revealed that he has not ruled out selling Leicester City to the consortium currently considering investing in the club. A group of mystery investors, believed to be from the Far East, have been shown around the facilities at the Walkers Stadium and the Belvoir Drive training ground in recent weeks. The City chairman has admitted he is looking to bring in a partner to ease the burden on himself. The 72-year-old said he had neglected his family and his businesses to focus on City, and said he hoped investors would help him ease back on his City commitments. But he added he was not actively looking to sell City. He said: "There are some possibilities to bring some people in with me to take some of the burden, for me to lean on so I can spend a little bit more time away. "If that doesn't happen, then I am here. I am committed to the club and there are no worries." When asked if the talks were with the intent of a business partnership or a full takeover, Mandaric said: "I don't know yet. But whatever I do it will be the best decision for the club. "I will not bail out, or anything like that. I want to be sure we go forward and build on the blocks we have put in place over the past two years. "I am having a really hard time. I have neglected my family and my businesses abroad, and they are suffering, in Slovenia and the USA and other countries. For the last two years, my commitment to Leicester City has been undivided, especially last year. "I wanted so badly to take us to the Premier League. It was a big blow when we lost in the play-offs and it has taken me some time to get over it. "Yes, I have a bit of pressure on me but I can't just back off the firing line. I have to be there. If I do, then we are in trouble at the football club." Mr Mandaric said he would ensure any investors, or potential buyers would be able to take the club on and put "serious" money into the team. "Whoever comes here I have to make sure they come here for the love of the game and can spend some serious money to add on some things and bring a different dimension than is already here," he said. "So whoever comes here, their goal will be the same as my goal – to take this club to Premier League." Mr Mandaric insisted he would not wait for a deal to be struck with the investors to back whoever becomes Nigel Pearson's successor as City boss. "We will add some players and we will compete," he pledged. "I am not just waiting for someone else to come in."
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Interesting. Anything that happens, will have to happen soon.
dandannieldanok Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 No no no no no. This is why a small minority (unfortunately too small) didn't want Mandaric here in the first place.
Alan Johnson Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 From the desk of Alan Johnson.Leicester City supporters, thank you very much for your patience in this time of hardship. Yes it’s true, Johnson & Johnson consortium 2020 are very close in securing a deal which will make myself Alan Johnson the majority stakeholder in your precious club. We regrettably announce Nigel Pearson was relived of his duties by request from myself. The reasons are simple. I wanted a black man placed at the helm. I felt the foundations were in place with Chris Powell here at the club already. Paul Ince and John Barnes are currently in advanced talks with myself over the vacant managerial post and a decision will be made early next week. A.Johnson
Mack Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 After all, Portsmouth FC have gone from strength to strength since Manadaric sold them..... He speaks well, and I believe he is a genuine football fan, but he is under pressure from other business interests and his misses and he will polish a turd if said turd stumps up his asking price for the club.
Jay Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 I just hope he has learned his lesson from flogging Portsmouth to the first person who showed him the money. Hopefully it's not just a first come first served thing and he is actually concerned and interested in the long term plans of investors

But of course they do have pitfalls and many have proved costly, not mentioning Reynolds at Darlington. Love the Mo'Wax slipmats on your avatar by the way
muzzyisalegend Posted 4 July 2010 Posted 4 July 2010 I fear who Milan may sell us to. I just hope he learned from Portsmouth's plight and actually does give a shit about us or we're in trouble. I don't wanna be flogged to Fred in a shed round the corner from the Walkers.

Love the Mo'Wax slipmats on your avatar by the way You have to love Mo'wax one of the most influential labels of the 90's, changed the shape of music in my opinion!! Infact I love Mo'Wax that much that I have most of their catalogue on vinyl and cd
Daggers Posted 5 July 2010 Posted 5 July 2010 I just hope he has learned his lesson from flogging Portsmouth to the first person who showed him the money. And the evidence that he EVER learns his lesson is? From what I can recall, he simply repeats the same mistakes until fate lobs in a random bonus winner. I've supported this club for long enough to know that this will not end in roses and sunshine. Nope, there will be a smell and something used to grow roses will be all over the shop.

I think people are being very naive here, do you really think Milan gives a fuck who he sells to? It's just pound signs in his eyes once it's of his hands it's not his problem anymore, Milan has never and never will love or really care about this club it's just a business venture, as business venture that has failed. Don't get me wrong I really want Milan Mandaric out of this club but I really worry about who we're going to end up with, You see that these foreign investors don't generally bring anything good to clubs.

Don't get me wrong I really want Milan Mandaric out of this club but I really worry about who we're going to end up with, You see that these foreign investors don't generally bring anything good to clubs. The one thing that annoys me about Milan is the fact he always plays the "poor Milan" card all the time. He's not stupid enough to be throwing money down the drain but he makes out he is using his children’s inheritance that is never going to be seen again. The fact is that we as a club owe Milan money and he will charge as higher interest rate as he thinks he can legally get away with. He will use "the high risk factor" as his excuse when people start asking questions. Milan is not alone, most millionaires are ruthless and would do the same, it's how you become rich. Other millionaires do have the decency of not to trying to pull the wool over people eyes and simply get on with their dealings quietly. The fact that Milan calls the Sun every time he drops a pound down the back of the sofa in his office really annoys me.
