Guest Mee-9 Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Class player. Excellent goal. Game on! Come on Uruguay!!!
Matt Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Was going to put Forlan in my dream team today aswell but was worried about the amount of transfers I had left! BUT it has worked in favour for me because someone in the same league as i'm in (And we're playing for money) has Bronckhorst so for the goal he scored and gained points on hes lost points for conceding, he also has the Dutch keeper so lost double points now! Just need Sneijder and/or Van Persie to score a couple for me. Is it just me or has Van Persie hardly been in the game?
Matt Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Why does Forlan have a blue tongue? I thought he had a blue toungue too, Energy drink?
Narborough_fox Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Or it is those blue Bonbons you get from the news agents in Narborough.
Salieri Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Another goal from Sneijder, was there an offside? Close call. Pleased Holland are winning though...
ScouseFox Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Fvcking awesome round for my dream team, got Van Bronckhorst, Forlan and Sneijder © Edit - Had Maxi Pereira aswell
Salieri Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 I'm hoping more and more for a Holland - Germany final. Could be a very open, entertaining game. With a victory for the Dutch, of course.
Edmund Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 What a nervy ending. Blow the whistle for fucks sake. Pretty decent match. Forlans goal was good but no way near on the same level as V.bronckhorsts. Easily goal of the tournament.
lildave3 Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Holland v Germany would be bloody huge. Really hope they win it, mainly because of my love for Robben but they're just fun to watch.
MC Prussian Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 Well, that was another great game of football, wasn't it? And again, involving Uruguay, a team almost no one had on their cards to get this far. Although I wanted Uruguay to go through to the final (wishful thinking, I know), I can live with that Dutch win. Ultimately, the individual class decided this game and the Netherlands had more of that in their squad. With Godin not fully recovered, captain Lugano out injured, Suarez banned for one game and no creative midfielder in sight, this game was sealed before it had even kicked off. Again, Uruguay stood well in defense and there was nothing they could do about those three goals, really. Van Bronckhorst's hammer - what a blow. What skill. First I thought "What was he thinking - was that really an intended shot?", then I remembered how good Giovanni can be at long-distance shots (particularely free-kicks on the left). Forlan's equalizer came just as much out of nowhere and was almost as stunning. Just as you thought he'd pass it to the right, he moves back inside, fools Van Bommel (?) and the Dutch central defender (for once) and BLAM! another one of Forlan's Finests finds its way into the net. Can't blame Stekelenburg for that one - one of his defenders blocked the sight and the ball had a sweet swerve to it. Snejider's goal (which had no one in offside, contrary to what some TV pundits want to make you believe) took the wind out of the South American's sails. Again, a goal that came out of nowhere and against the run of play. Uruguay were pushing for the lead themselves and limited the Netherlands' to only few own attacks. Robben's header - delicious. But special mention to Kuyt, who set his teammate up in such a lovely fashion. Uruguay surely made sure they didn't give up without a fight and the consolidation goal late into the game made for an entertaining and tense final minutes. Chin up, you made a whole continent proud and one country with 3.5 million inhabitants in particular. All in all, I'd like to salute both teams for their respective performance. Having said that, I now want the Dutch to win the Cup and Uruguay to end up in 3rd place.
