andy_croydz Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 I hope the owner Mark is reading this thread, he told me he wanted passing football and didn't want us to have Sousa as manager, maybe we should let Harry Hill know... Biggest contradiction of the weeeeeeeeeeek.
Salieri Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Thanks Really apriciate it ! He's my cousin so I'm hoping of whole my heart that he get an offer So in your 'unbiased' opinion, how good is the lad? What's his best position, RB or CB?
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Proper feel for you mate, you must have spent a bit on those flags Ahh fook it. We'll still go for it. I'm still taking my 6 flags (only two of which cost anything of note).
ousefox Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Good win. Seems weird that the football season will be back so soon, probably because of the WC being on. Our squad does still seem quite thin though and only having one friendly left with a solitary signing by Sousa it doesn't feel like we are ready. Think we are in need of a RB and I hope Sousa will bring a few decent players in on loan to fill the gaps Vaughan, Waghorn, Solano, Spearing and Bruce left.
anri22 Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 So in your 'unbiased' opinion, how good is the lad? What's his best position, RB or CB? The last year have he been captain for Grasshoppers Zurich u21 playing CB! Before that he played RB on u18! He is a great player 1 to 1, and a amazing player using his head. In my opinion is he better on CB. In hull he played both matches on RB, so it looks that RB is his favourite position.

Corky Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Peterborough have the look of a decent League 1 side judging by the team sheet. Would expect them to be challenging for promotion.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Just got back home, thoroughly enjoyed tonght. We started a little slowly I thought but the general style of passing play was superb and Posh couldnt deal with it. Lewis really was at fault for Kings goal, a simple cross came over and he flapped at it and King nodded in. Soon as that went in it was all us, and Posh barely had a shot. The second goal was a real good move, with Fryatt picking the ball up before playing DJ through who finished well. After the break it went a bit flat with the subs, but again our passing play was so good and Posh were struggling. N'Guessan, who had a great game turning players inside out with fancy footwork, finished a slick move after more good work from Fryatt. Then Howard had a chance to make it 4, but put it wide, before getting another chance which he smashed home after looking like he had taken it too wide. His second goal was just good passing in the area before he slotted home. Logan looked ok, until their goal, where I thought he should have done better, but then I didnt have the best angle. The defence were solid and always comfortable, Hobbs and Morrison played well as ever, Neilson looked ok, whilst Berner was also solid but I thought he looked a little unfit. I dont know why DNG and Dyer were on the wrong sides, but it suited DNG more than Dyer who faded more the game went on. Oakley had an average game, a few good tackles, similar to King really. The strikers were all good, and although Fryatt didnt score, he worked hard and seemed to like playing with DJ. Howard came on and won every header and battled, and playing with youngsters around him didnt have effect on his game. All in all a great night, bit expensve but there were quite a few City fans there, probably around 200. If we continue to play like we did tonight, with a slow passing game, I think we will have no trouble scoring goals. EDIT: A funny moment at hlaf time when a City fan just appeared to walk straight past all the stewards and get on the ptich before having a five minute laugh and a joke with Chrissy Powell and Weale. Powell pretending to grapple with the bloke who when did trudge off was met with a couple of baldy stewards who (preumably) ushered him out of the ground. The bloke must have been 40 odd and was hardly causing trouble, but was funny anyway!
Walshy5 Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Would anyone who went be so kind as to do some player ratings as i couldnt make this one cheers.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Would anyone who went be so kind as to do some player ratings as i couldnt make this one cheers. Logan 7 - Think he could have done etter with goal but had a few good saves. Neilson 7 - Did ok. Morrison 7 - Solid Hobbs 7 - Solid. Berner 7 - Ok performance. N'Guessan - 7.5 Good flicks and turns, always a threat. Oakley 6.5 Average, nothing special. King 7 - Again nothing great but did score. Dyer 6.5 - Faded more the gam went on, and was on the right side. Fryatt 7.5 - Didnt score but put in much effort DJ Campbell 8 - Ran around a lot used his pace to upset people Subs Howard 8 - Two good goals, could have got a hat trick. Kennedy 6 - Not enough time really. Wellens 6 - See above. All other subs didnt contribute all that much really
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Thank you for your review! Can you write your views about Hebibs play? Most the subs who came on did ok, but with all the stop starting it was difficult to keep track of these new faces, but thin he was alright.
