Tilley Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 This place would go into meltdown if O'Neil joined Forest. Can't wait for the 'BRING BACK O'NEIL & HESKEY' callers on the phone in.

Yojoe36 Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 I've seen on many websites and reports saying Martin o'neil may become Forests new manager. Billy Davis apparently wants out I hope this isn't true, and to me it looks unlikely
StanSP Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 Forest will get to the Prem quicker than we will I believe should he manage Forest.
Webbo Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 Billy Davies doesn't like his signings having to go through Forest's acquisition panel. O'Neil would never stand for it. Can't see this happening.
Joe. Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 I said to lildave a couple of weeks back I thought this might happen...
lildave3 Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 I said to lildave a couple of weeks back I thought this might happen... First thing I thought of! Still say it has no chance of happening
Guest Bilo Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 No chance. O'Neill will want much, much more money than Davies is currently on having been used to Premiership and Celtic wages and there's little chance of Forest being prepared to fund both this and the transfer funds O'Neill would demand. Also, as Webbo says, there's no way O'Neill would stand for transfer decisions being made over his head. Even if Forest were in the Premiership, this would be unlikely.

Their chairman's hardly cash-strapped..
Guest Bilo Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 You reckon? Their chairman's hardly cash-strapped.. But isn't really renowned for throwing good money after bad at the cause, hence Davies slinging his toys out of the pram. He's hardly tight after the way Forest spent last summer, but he isn't daft with cash either.
Dames Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 Well, I got my letter through the post today saying I've been unsuccessful with my application for the Managerial position There goes that dream.
Narborough_fox Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/aston_villa/8969268.stm Houllier named as O'Neill's predecessor.

Narborough_fox Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 Surely David O'Leary was O'Neill's predecessor. I knew it didn't sound right, Yeah well Houllier has been named new Villa manager. Jesus I've had a wee 'Mare there.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 I think that's a good appointment by Villa. Much maligned at Liverpool but bar a couple of lucky runs under Benitez, Liverpool have hardly been much better off after Houllier.
RedHux Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 By Neil AshtonMARTIN O'NEILL is being lined up for an emotional return to Nottingham Forest as manager. O'Neill has emerged as the shock front-runner to succeed Billy Davies if he quits the County Ground...and mirror his mentor, Brian Clough. County ground!?! Cheeky get! Obviously we (Forest) would love him to return as a manager. We'd also love Jose Mourinho but that's not going to happen either. Billy's a mardy sod but he's never quit a job yet. Despite his moaning about our AP (which he's on!) I reckon he's here for a while yet unless it's a mutual consent termination thing. Anyway, don't most clubs have some sort of mechanism for signing players? Long gone are the days a manager decides who he wants and what he's prepared to pay (unless you're Man City). I'd imagine all clubs need the green light from their respective money men before any cash is spent.
