Fosse Boy Posted 16 August 2010 Posted 16 August 2010 http://www.fsf.org.uk/news/fsf-backs-non-league-day.php Quite fancy a trip up to FC United myself. Great club, great fans. Though I do need to get down to Kettering before they get chucked out of Rockingham Road, and they've got AFC Wimbledon on that day too...
Unit Posted 16 August 2010 Posted 16 August 2010 Because of my dad it'd normally be oxford, now they're 'league' I suppose hinckley.

That old open terrace they give to the away fans could make for a decent day. Why are they being chucked out of Rockingham by the way?

Their lease on the land is up at the end of the season I think, and the council are being twats about it. Well, that's the last I heard anyway, was a few months ago mind...
Fox You Forest Posted 16 August 2010 Posted 16 August 2010 I'll be going down to watch Coalville against the mighty Willenhall Town. They have a replay in the FA Cup tomorrow against.... Stone Dominoes.
Jordan Posted 16 August 2010 Posted 16 August 2010 If I were in England, easy: a trip down to Berkshire to see Maidenhead United vs. Bromley. Experience history while you're at it--no team in the world have played at their home ground longer than Maidenhead, who have called York Road their home sweet home since 1871. Come on you Magpies!

Hallam FC in Sheffield have played at their ground since 1860 I believe.
Brainy Posted 16 August 2010 Posted 16 August 2010 Might do, plan on going to see my local side tonight anyway.
Head Honcho Posted 17 August 2010 Posted 17 August 2010 Newport County v Wrexham Be going to watch Newport tomorrow also, first match back in the conference and should be a good turnout.
Brainy Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Might do, plan on going to see my local side tonight anyway. got tonked 5-1.
Fox You Forest Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 got tonked 5-1. FA Cup game? Coalville won 3-0 in their replay and have Heath Hayes in the first qualifying round.
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 FA Cup game? Coalville won 3-0 in their replay and have Heath Hayes in the first qualifying round. Nah it's the Preliminary rounds still, Stone Dominoes was the "Extra" Premlinary round Heather St Johns won as well meaning they've got further than they ever had, and my 5 a side team beat the 5 a side team of one of their main strikers the day after he scored for Heather .
Fox You Forest Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 Are Heather in the same division as Bardon?
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 Are Heather in the same division as Bardon? They play a step above, same level as Coalville just different divisions.
ploddy Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 As England are playing on Friday there is no pro football in the country over the weekend. There is non-league football though and Saturday is the first ever "Non-League Day" (http://www.nonleagueday.co.uk/). If any City fans want to get their fix of football on that day and try something a bit different Coalville Town are offering half-price admission for anyone who attends their Owen Street Sports Ground on the day in either a replica City shirt (well, any replica football shirt) or who shows their City season ticket. A bit more about it on this poster: http://www.coalvilletownfc.co.uk/posters/Non-League%20Day.pdf The ground address is Owen Street, Coalville, LE67 3DA and there is a bit of a map on that poster. Hopefully see some of you there on Sat!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 League One and League Two teams are playing... bit rich to say that no pro football is being played this weekend - especially given our recent predicament! Could also go see Oadby Town, whose major sin is to look too much like Man Utd (well the kit at least)
ramboacdc Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 might go and watch coalville today if i can find a pushchair/pram for my daughter.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 I live i Hinckley, nobody round here supports them, the owners a known cvnt
JoeyB Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 i didn't do a non league club but went burton and enjoyed it alot, i was encouraged by stewards to stand instead of sit!!!
MC Prussian Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Went to see a local side play at home, right next to where I live. It's only a three-minute walk up the street. Lovely weather, good local beer and a decent result - the home side won 2-1 and is gracing regional Group 6 on the fourth-highest Swiss football level as current leader.
