Then he came to us and bagged two on his debut against Watford. No nonsense player, no nonsense comments. Keep up the good work.

Knows the game better than a lot of other Stringer sidekicks in the past. Outspoken and doesn't take shit from anyone. Admirable for him challenging Sousa's tactics and post-Burnley comments. If only Stringer could learn something from Young...

I for one could listen to him everyweeek, he says it just like it is, no nonsense just like his playing days !! And if you want commitment , who can remember the Shrewsbury game ?? probably one of the greatest games ever, if you are too young to remember it look it up on youtube, it brings a lump to my throat every time I see it. I was at the game sat in compost corner, when the last goal went in the chear could be heard in the Leiceter Mercury offices 2 mile away !! He's here he's there he's every F----ing where Alan Young !!!!

The Shrewsbury FA Cup tie, winning at Orient and watching the city fans swing from the crossbar until it snapped in two, and the laughable 'camaraderie' between Alan Young and Jim Melrose. As others have said he was a legend of my childhood, and him being on the RL commentary is almost enough to make me regret going to actually watch the games.

However, i do feel that the Stringer-Young partnership is fantastic, some of you on here hate Stringer, but hes a passionate fan who makes things interesting, even if he doesn't appear to know what he is on about sometimes...

He has a real passion for this job and he tells it as it is which helps when trying to follow how we are doing. It is actually reliable information on players' form and when it is not every week that you go to see them you realise when you do that he is right . Great to hear the criticism and the praise and then the total joy of your team winning. Stringer knows he is worth asking his opinion. They are forming a really good partnership.

I agree, Stringer and Alan Young seem to get on very well together. Spending the day cooped up in a car and commentary box would test any relationship. I can't imagine Alan young putting up with a twonk for too long.
