Kilworthfox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 SIMPLE! Because Neilson is shit, other than that
cc_star Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Neilson ain't great, but Lame is feckin awful, and Moreno would never last in midfield in this division he' wouldn't be able to live with the pace the championship, so Souza is just shoe-horning him in somewhere Like all bad managers he's picking players over pick a TEAM
Cat Burger Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Personally I have my concerns about Morrison's failure to defensively dominate aerially at centre half. In an ideal world I think he should be playing right back with a more attacking full back bombing forward on the left. If we had another centre back who could challenge from corners we would have 4 massive goal threats in the box, that is if Howard plays.
dandannieldanok Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Haven't seen Lamey play (bar 8 minutes against Boro) but it seems the conclusive opinion of those that did go on Saturday is that he's a poor player, so yes Neilson should probably get that place back on merit. Although I've never been entirely comfortable with Morrison at centre-half (has his good days and bad days), he's a proper defender unlike Moreno and can head a ball. So yes I've got to agree with the topic notion, although we'll hopefully have even better options come 5pm......
ousefox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 A left footed centre half would do nicely or at least someone who can play LCB which Morrison and Hobbs both can't seem to do. Tunchev would be the answer if he is ever fit again.
lcfcbradyboy Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I cant belive you can call Lamey hes are best RB and Moreno is just shite he cant head a ball Moreno is a waste of space and money so play RB) Lamey CB) Morrison CB) Hobbs LB) Berner Simples
Mack Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Morrison was to blame for 2 of the goals at Palace first game of the season. And he was breeding panic with his nervy start to the season. He was however a decent player at right back, and given Lamey and Nielsen being less than competent I would go for Morrison at right back. As for the centre, Tunchev is close to being fit and that will be problem solved.
bettso Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Given that he's losing pace and the team is being chopped changed with awesome regularity at the minute: - LB - Kennedy LCB - Berner RCB - Hobbs RB - Lamey (lets give him a few more games before we decide that he's complete shit)
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 A neutral observer I went to the game with on Saturday said he thought Lamey looked a decent footballer but Moreno did not seem dominating enough to be a Championship centre-half. Incidentally, he also thought we had no need for doom and gloom - the Reading game could easily have gone either way, as could the Middlesbrough match, and we'd be comfortably in the top half and enjoying some of the nice spells of football that we can put together.
bigneville Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I've said in various threads. Morrison isn't liked by Sousa because of his lack of footballing ability. Hence why he starts Moreno.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Neilson has done nothing wrong this season, and last year he was constantly exposed by Oakley drifting in from right midfield, neilson deserves a chance,
sdb Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 the harsh truth is that we have 1 excellent defender, 1 good one, and half a dozen average ones, with Morrisson having good potential. I feel the answer here is - sign another defender. I know life isn't always that easy but we're shipping goals (slight exaggeration), we've lost a solid CB and have brought in quantity over quality. St Ledger or Williams please. Would make us so much stronger.

Oner of those goals was as a result of Hobbs being beaten in the air when he really should have won the ball this caught Morrison by surprise, but then not many on here would even consider criticising Hobbs. Like wise against Reading Hobbs was beaten in the air time and time again but again he can do no wrong for so many. I'm not saying Hobbs is bad but he's looked at with tinted specs where as every error Morrison makes is highlighted.
Mikey Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Berner - Tunchev/Zayatte - Hobbs - Morrison. Sorted.

I like Morro its a shame he has to lose his place due to a couple of bad games for us when last season he was one of our better young players definatelt has potential for the future. I'd have to go with a back line like this: Morro - Hobbs - Tunch/Vitor(If hes ever fit) - Berner
jonw88 Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 It seems that everyone's forgotten about Vitor, surely he'll be fit for the next game after the break? And if he's a proper CB and regarded as an up and coming starlet in Portugal, then surely he'll be our best bet to partner Hobbs? Don't see why we need another CB with the Tunch hopefully back soon too and Morrison as good cover. Just don't want to see Moreno in the back four ever again, he is NOT a defender!
Ozwin Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I really dislike how Morisson has been shoved out of the way for Moreno who isn't even that good. I like seeing young players given a chance and a team with a spine of Morrison, Hobbs, King, Waghorn really sounds good to me.

Same here mate, I'd rather see a hoof out of play, clear the danger than see two or 3 defenders piss about with the ball at the back. I'd like to see Morrison Hobbs Tunchev/Zayatte Berner too.
lcfc01 Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 morrison and hobbs were quailty last year until wayne brown came in. everyone slates nelison, but he started the season well.
FoX4LiFe! Posted 31 August 2010 Author Posted 31 August 2010 Neilson has done nothing wrong this season, and last year he was constantly exposed by Oakley drifting in from right midfield, neilson deserves a chance, Agreed - AND HES THE ONLY DEFENDER TO HAVE SCORED THIS SEASON, bare that in mind.

The Doctor Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Agreed - AND HES THE ONLY DEFENDER TO HAVE SCORED THIS SEASON, bare that in mind. against macclesfield, his first goal for 5 years and, i'm sure, only his second ever goal. Goals aren't an arguement to keep him in the team ahead of some others. But given his start to the season he should be first choice.
