Wymsey Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 Impressive moves from the lad, especially at 7, he's obviously blessed with natural talent. Whether this will equate to anything in the future is hard to tell. Didn't Man United sign an Australian kid of about the same age a couple of years back? As has already been mentioned though, it's pretty clear that none of the kids playing against him had the same burning desire to be a defender. Yes they did. His parents didn't want him to go there but he wanted to go. Brave lad for his age
ACF Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 First ever goal I scored on a Sunday was a twenty five yard belter into the bottom corner from off the left wing. I was about eleven years old, playing my first season on pitch having been moved from goals for being too small (and too fast to be "wasted") I put my shirt over my head like Ravanelli, cheering like a maniac, and ran several laps of the opposition half before jumping on the floor. Everyone was probably looking at me like a tit. I didn't care, I was having fun - "posturing" or not. I think I turned out alright.

My first ever goal was a fluke stunner from the halfway line playing against Seaton '92 for Birstall United under 10's. Ball came rolling to me on the half way line and with the wise words of my Dad/manager ringing in my ear ("if in doubt, whack it out") I swung back my skinny right leg and made possibly the sweetest contact with a football I've ever made. Ball sailed high over half the pitch, bounced once in front of the keeper and over his head into the goal. The only thing I remember about my celebration is that I think I cried a bit. It was beautiful.
Finnegan Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 how many years did it take you to admit it was meant to be a clearance?

It was beautiful. That is exactly how I scored my first goal in 11 a side!! I played left back. It was 3-3, coming into the last few minutes. I seen the keeper was off his line , so hit it as hard as I could, and just like yours, it bounced straight over him
Guest Bilo Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 My football was a little bit less proud. Gave in around Year 7. Remember in training that I picked up the ball around the halfway line, knocked it past one, nutmegged the class bully, and rounded the keeper to leave me with an open goal from 10 yards out and promptly skied it. Didn't get picked for the following game.
Finnegan Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 In fact I remember the celebrations/aftermath far more vividly than the shots themselves. Even in recent memory. For example I remember shouting at Raj and saying something to Tomassi after scoring in d FT games but I have no memory of the goals. I know I scored and I know what happened but I can't actually remember shooting.
DB11 Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 Horrible video. All that slow mo and re-runs before you've seen the actual thing.
The Doctor Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 i scored straight from kick-off once. Granted the ball was just rolled back to me so i hoofed it forward and the keeper spilled it through his legs but i'm going to claim it was a) deliberate and b) a good strike rather than shite keeping. Frankly i'm the one who does the cynical parts and takes the opposition out when no-ones looking.
Koke Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 In my girls team, there is this one girl who is a carbon copy of Arjen Robben. The way she runs, the way she is completely one-footed. She loves running down the right, cut inside and smash the ball into the top corner. She loves dive around a bit as well. She must have downloaded endless clips of Robben and studied him.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 16 September 2010 Posted 16 September 2010 2.22 is a nice bit of skill. I reckon a lot of kids his age could do most of the other stuff. Wasn't bad myself as a child but sadly nobody made me a commemorative montage

Absolutely nothing wrong with that!
