shiv Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 It amazes me how people on here can make everything sound negative
Guest ttfn Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 4 years is a bit excessive though. Without his pace he isn't that good and a s someone said, that will drop off. You have to remember that a 4 year deal also means that we'll get full value for him if we decide to sell him in 2012 as opposed to if he'd signed a 3 year deal when we'd have to take a cut price deal at that time. It's a two way street - it protects the club's asset as well
HonradaRaposa Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 History is repeating itself. In the next fortnight expect Fryatt, Oakley, Howard and Neilson to be given contract extensions.
Fox You Forest Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 History is repeating itself. Isn't that always the case when you post.
Edmund Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Great news, Dyer and King have been are standout players this season. He showed us against Reading how deadly he is. Lets hope he enjoys playing in the cold now
Jakemoore Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Everyone has been going on about player unrest at our club, and I'm not going to deny it because it could be true. However, Lloyd Dyer signed a 4 year contract extension last week. Lloyd Dyer could easily appeal to other managers in the Championship but he's decided to stay aboard our "sinking ship" why's that then?
Chairman of the Bored Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 He's taking lessons in scuba diving and going down on a sinking ship will cut his costs of getting to the sea to do his thang.
Mack Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Just because you have a contract doesn't mean you cant be bought by another club. For all you know he could have a release clause in it based on an amount, relegation or just plain wanting to leave.
Karljohn Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 If someone offered you the chance to earn over a million pounds in 4 years at the age of 28 would you turn it down regardless of your boss?
Jakemoore Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 If someone offered you the chance to earn over a million pounds in 4 years at the age of 28 would you turn it down regardless of your boss? If I was good enough to play at a winning club with a good manager then yeah. Which raises the question, is Sousa just a bad tactical manager? Or has he lost the dressing room as well? Cause by Dyer signing that contract I wonder if they're a close bunch or not. I don't know for sure obviously.
AoWW Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Ooh, would you believe it... there was already a thread about this. Astonishing what a bit of searching can find.
MPH Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 If someone offered you the chance to earn over a million pounds in 4 years at the age of 28 would you turn it down regardless of your boss? Yes if you thought you could earn more elsewhere- lets face it with the current turmoil at the club he had the perfect opportunity to jump ship and save face - he could of said he wanted a club with a bit more stability. by signing a new deal he is sending out a signal to potential suitors that he is happy at Leicester - that will mean also that other clubs would have to significantly increase any offer to cover what we , as a club, have put into the new deal. Although its not unheard of, albeit extremly rare, there is not much chance of him going anywhere else this season having just signed a new 4 year deal.

I don't know for sure obviously. He hasn't lost the dressing room, he didn't have it to lose in the first place, its clear he doesn't listen to his senior pro's either. Dyer is a good player but not a great player, at 28 it suits him as he's midlands based and never played any higher than the level he's at, he's in a comfortable position regardless of who's manager and has recognized that he probably won't cut it in the top flight, after all he's had 10 years to get himself there. I understand your mind wondering if they are a close knit unit, the reality is they look after number 1, there are always players knocking at the managers door for one reason or another, I remember being at LCFC in 1991/2 on work experience and everyday Kevin Russell knocked Brian Little's door wanting away, yet he was a terrace hero!
Lord Fox Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Great news, it's certainly made my day a bit bright considering it was doing like a pile of dog sh**e He's by far the best left footed player we have had at the club since Steve Guppy. Source:http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2162564,00.html Guppy in my eyes is a LEGEND, I loved the guy - and Dyer IMO is having a good season so far ,I just wished he was played in the left, I can see the reason for starting on the right so the he can cut in, but with his natural left foot surly the team would benefit from having a true left sided outlet?
