Legend_in_blue Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Fallout 3 is about to get a revamp... Who's looking forward to the first of the big end of year releases? Improvements include an overhaul of the VATS system, weapon mods, an intergrated companion wheel, a reputation system that impacts on NPCs response towards the player, mini games based around gambling in casinos, a hardcore mode, slightly improved draw distances and a fresher look graphically... Include the fact that there are around 400 locations in the game, on a similar sized game map to Fallout 3, and around 160 quests to complete, this should keep people going for a while. Game of the year...? That came in January! But I'm looking forward to it all the same.

Criticisms seem to be aimed at one of two things... 1) The game is more Fallout 3 - since when was a game based on one of the greatest RPGs of the past 2 years a bad thing? 2) Bugs. Lots of bugs in game. Same could be said of Oblivion of course, and Fallout 3 and F1 2010 and ... . Unfortunately, everything seems to have these issues these days. A patch is inevitable anyway. Anything offering 40 hrs + gameplay can only be a good thing. Who's up for some AC2.5 and Force Unleashed 2 next month as well?

I've even pre-ordered the special edition - Fallout 3 was unbelieveably good. I reckon I put in over 100 hours into that game and New Vegas is meant to be bigger and longer. New England Fox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Got it today, played it for a few hours and I love it so far, like previously mentioned, its very much the same as Fallout 3 but thats certainly not a bad thing, The main storyline is pretty interesting and it already seems to me to be more challenging than Fallout 3

Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 Hoping my PC will be up to the challenge of this (Was fine with FO3 and I see no big graphical improvements, so should be.) For the record, I've also played FO1 and 2 - FO2 has one of the toughest end battles ever!
