Tilley Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 My Vauxhall Corsa Sxi has been keyed up the side. Is there anyway it could be blended back into the body work? I wouldn't consider doing it myself so could anyone point me in the direction of a company? Or is it better to go through my insurance?
Matt Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Probably a case of taking it to a sprayshop getting the panel sanded back and resprayed unfortunatly. If it's not deep I wouldn't have thought it'd need filling, just a sand back a even respray should be good, but doubt you'd ever wax it in, touch it up, or buff it out, e.t.c if it's a big area or long scratch.

Get it in the colour closest to your car paintwork and use the chipstick you get free to fill out the scratch and then use the polish over. It isn't worth spending a fortune on, bodyshop etc, if it's your first car. (If it is your first?)

It's just a slight scratch from the rear wheel to passenger door but then from the door to the front wheel, it's pretty deep.

A bit off topic but I was sat in the services near stone henge last week while my gf got herself a coffee, just minding my own busisness looking at my phone. When the bloke in the car parked next to me comes back, and just slams his door into mine! I looked and he must have been about 85 years old, I didnt have he heart to say anything to a pensioner and his elderly wife, but bloody hell was I annoyed. Left a mark too. Wonder if he did it on purpose. <_<

I've nearly done it on several occasions to people who've truly pissed me off, but somehow managed to convince myself it's 'wrong'...
