Tilley Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 He should've gone the morning after we got beat 4-1 in South Africa.
Philbert Fox Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 He's gotta go! At this rate we're gonna fail to qualify for the second consecutive European Championships. The FA are adamant that it has to be an English Manager, Harry Redknapp's the man in my opinion, one of the best English Managers in the history of football, they should have appoint him for the role, they should have appointed him ages ago!

We're second in the group with a game in hand on the team above.I think you're over reacting a bit mate.
StanSP Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 We're second in the group with a game in hand on the team above.I think you're over reacting a bit mate. Plus it's Switzerland, Buglaria, Wales and Montenegro. Although these teams will pose some threat, it won't be as big a threat as France posed yesterday. If we don't comfortably qualify, then definitely Capello should go.
Guest ttfn Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 People need to stop over-reacting. If Capello was to go, he had to go after the World Cup. There is no longer any point in sacking him, particularly after defeat in a friendly match. Capello can't seem to win either way. If he picks the old guard he's considered too cautious and "stifling" England's future players. If he picks younger players, we get dicked on. There is no quick fix. We do have the players and we have a good manager too. For some reason it ain't working. But I'm pretty sure that nobody on here has any more idea about what's wrong with England than Capello does. People mention English players being "technically poor". In the late 90s we had a plethora of technically excellent players: Fowler, Sheringham, Beckham, Scholes, McManaman. And yet we won nothing. It's not as simple as us being technically weak (for the record I don't think we are - Rooney, Lampard, Ferdinand and Cashley all have a decent technique) or the players not "showing enough desire". Arguably it's something intangible. Confidence? Over-bearing expectation? The fact is, nobody knows, and we're not going to fix it in the next 10 years. Nothing I've seen of the next batch suggests they'll be good enough to mount a serious challenge for a major tournament. Walcott is infuriating, Carroll will end up in jail, Wilshere is presently grotesquely over-rated (awaits predictable backlash) and as I said on a different thread, I don't see what others see in Rodwell as a future defensive/defensive midfield stalwart. We're fooked, and we'd better get used to it. But it's not Capello's fault.

Ross-Kemp Posted 19 November 2010 Posted 19 November 2010 Dickie greenleaf, that team looks about right to me.
Mack Posted 22 November 2010 Author Posted 22 November 2010 Interesting quotes from Shearer... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9213404.stm
Mack Posted 23 November 2010 Author Posted 23 November 2010 This would suit everyone... Easy out for the FA on a huge pay off amd even Capello must realize England are going no where with him at the helm. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/2914/0/inter-milan-line-capello-replace-under-fire-benitez
Mack Posted 20 December 2010 Author Posted 20 December 2010 Rumours now circulating Benitez sacking is imminent. Capello was in Abu Dhabi watching Inter at the World Club Championships. Shouldn't be long now!!
Edmund Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 The problem is 'Arry' wont take the job at this moment in time. Can see mon getting the job as he's the only decent available option.
sdb Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 O'Neill? I agree thogu. Real lack of decent managers
Edmund Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 O'Neill? I agree thogu. Real lack of decent managers He's been linked with the England job in the past but I'm not sure if he wants to manage at International level.
Father Ted Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 O'Neill would never take the England job with the bunch of ****** that are in charge of the FA. As for the goon wanting Benitez have a word!
dave_the_fox Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Thought he was saying Benitez was getting the sack so capello will be going there? Not that ge wanted rafa?
Father Ted Posted 21 December 2010 Posted 21 December 2010 Thought he was saying Benitez was getting the sack so capello will be going there? Not that ge wanted rafa? I thought that he was implying for a straight swap. It's not overly clear tbh
Mack Posted 21 December 2010 Author Posted 21 December 2010 Benitez has returned to Liverpool for Christmas. Is he mad?? Meanwhile his days at Inter look over BUT the Italian press are suggesting Capello is no longer Inters 1st choice as a repalcement
Father Ted Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 Benitez sacked according to SSN He's finally been found out. Awful manager.
