Is that aimed at me?

Their fans are twats, there's no two ways about it. I've had this opinion since before we got sent down by them, I've had to live around them and their opinion of being the best team ever whilst having the audacity to try and call our club shit (coincidently, this was after they got promoted so they forgot about the 15,000 attendances they used to get in the Championship) day-in, day-out

No not aimed at you at all, reading through your posts you seem one of the more sensible posters. I just think that a lot of critcism of Stoke is from people who think that because we got relegated there they feel the need to slag them of when in truth it was over the course of 46 games that we were not good enough not just one game.

Sure, but aren't their Leicester fans about who think we have a divine right to dominate Europe? That not spanking this league is a disgrace?

For every Stoke fan calling a lower-league team shit, there's a Leicester fan calling half the premier league teams shit and insisting we have a right to be there.

Look if I'm being honest I'd love Stoke to lose in the final just to see all of their fans who are more arrogant than ever be brought down with a bump. Mainly just to rub it in my Stoke supporting mates' faces.

I understand how that would be really fun for you, especially living where you do.

But maybe their arrogance is justified? Solid premier league team, deservedly into an FA Cup final, potentially playing European football next season...

Isn't that pretty much everything we dream of our team having as Leicester fans?

Just seems to me as outright jealousy.

Probably is, I still love telling them how shit i think they are.

:) Of course...

But that seems a little odd when one of the reasons you gave for thinking their fans are twats was that they have the 'audacity to try and call our club shit'

:dunno:

Sorry, I don't think I explained it right. This was going on when they were nothing more than a mid table championship team attracting tiny crowds, trying to make out that they were so much better because they had quality players yet their line up at the time contained Ade Akinbiyi.

I don't care for Stoke either way. That said, I can understand why you still would if you were at that game. I'm just too apathetic to hold grudges against anything except Dennis Wise and Cookware toasters

Bang On.

Anyone actually at the game that day, and there wasn't many of us, 2,100 to be exact as they cut our allocation as they found "fans" from somewhere will share the despise of them from a Leicester point of view.

Cvnt of a club and one I'd loe to see rot and die.

Too right Tom. That was the only really meaningful game where the whole of our support stood up, from front to back.

The way our fans were treated by theirs, and how we got shafted over with the tickets leaves a bitter taste that will remain forever.

They got 15,000 in a 25/27,000 stadium. About 10k under capacity. We often get 22/23,000! Same.

People need to get over the game at The Britannia. We fooked up that season, they had just won promotion to the prem for God sake!

As for anyone supporting Man City in the final, that's a real shame imo. Richest club in the world, have bought any success they get, play incredibly boring football (i.e. aim for 0-0 every away game), stifle talented players. Delighted they beat Utd but would love to see the underdog win.

Don't give a shit about Stoke's fans, I just loathe the British footballing stereotype they represent and enforce.

The idea of them representing the UK in Europe makes my blood run cold.

No they don't, not if they have any kind of affection for our club. Going down that day was at the time the worst thing that happened to us, although in the long run it seemed to work out.

We were one of eight or nine clubs that could say we've never been out of the top two tiers of football.

As stated in this thread already, it's not just that game, it's what Stoke represent on the whole.

I like the supporters, who followed their club in large numbers when they were crap and were very gracious in our meetings this season.

I hope Man City win it.

+1. Always a good day out when we play em and always have a laugh with their fans in the city centre.

I dont think they 'always play boring football' either. Sometimes they're over cautious, but Mancini has a job to do and at this stage is adhering to the classic win at home, draw away . When they turn it on, players like Tevez, Silva, Yaya and johnson have really shone.

I appreciate your passion for our club and that day was as horrible for me as it was for you, believe me. But I don't see how our previously proud record should be acknowledged by them when they've just reached the prem for the 1st time in their history. We've relegated a few teams over the last 15 years, I don't recall us having a quiet moment to show our respect of the opposition, nor should we!

I like their fans too (the proper ones), but Stoke's are also pretty decent (compare sound levels at Eastlands and The Britannia). Other than that though, it's English chairman from working class background v Asian Royal Family; English manager v Italian; £20 million pound squad v about £300 million; mid-table prem v top 4; British starting 11 (8/11) vs not so much (4/11). Neutrals should be backing Stoke imo.

Does it bother you then every time foreign owned Leicester are guided to victory by their Swedish manager?

I'll let you know when that happens.

Seriously though, you must see my point? It's great we've got an ambitious board and good manager, but it'd be even better were they British.

How do you think a majority of are fans would react to an opposing team getting releagated whilst were getting promoted. What did you expe t them to do clap and feel sorry for us.

No, i expected them to ignore us and celebrate promotion, not ignore the fact they'd won promotion to the top flight and instead mock us for going down.

That is the absolute definition of tin-pot and any failure of stoke's is pretty damn enjoyable as a result.

Not trying to be a twat but why would it be better if they were British?
