BoneDog Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 Roger Milla has still got it at Championship level. Deserves a chance.
Nick Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 Leicester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson is ready to sign forward Bernard Parker from FC Twente. Full story: Daily Mirror I am now aware this was posted last night and is a link to the same article. This makes me a bad person. If you have any further complaints regarding this matter, please press +1 in the right hand corner of this post. Thank - you.

There are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary, and those who do not...
Zingari Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 those that keep speaking in binary should fook off back home to Binaria
Ric Flair Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 I cringe when I watch highlights of footballers on youtube that we are linked with, but Parker is actual quality. He has rapid pace and his left foot is lethal. The reason I know all of this is because I work with 2 South African's and live with one and all 3 love football and any sign of quality in their national team and they won't shut up about it and Parker is apparently on a par with Pienaar in the eyes of SA fans.

Ask them what the deal is with his elbow.
Heskey2011 Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 Georgie Weah's cousin? Got premier league experience!

Webbo Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 i can honestly say i've never heard of any footballer called Bernard Bernie Parker.
STUHILL Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 Don't know much about these 3, but Parker definitely sounds an exciting buy for our level. Some people might complain about us having so many players come in on trial, but I think it's great and is a chance to discover a real gem! Hopefully Parker will be that gem and will save us spending millions elsewhere
FoxesFan123 Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 Are all 3 on a free? If signed, would they be eligible to play in December?
Father Ted Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 Parker was pretty good at Red Star, but the Serbian league is pretty awful. He could be hit or miss.
Haydos Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 From stingers twitter: #LCFC reserves drew 2-2 at Aston Villa today. Trialist Bernard Parker and Matt Fryatt scored the goals. Chris Powell says he's happy at City Encouraging news all round by the sounds of it. Glad fryatt's bagging for the reserves at last.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 December 2010 Posted 16 December 2010 Bernard Parker is, as others have said, potentially very exciting. I'd have liked to have seen us go after his SA strike partner Katlego Mphela. From what I've seen, he's the better player, and he'd be excellent at this level.

I don't see why he shouldn't be effective at Premiership level either. I quite rate DJ in some ways but he's nowhere near as dangerous an all-round player as Parker looks. Those goals aren't all take-your-time goals, some have to be taken instantly, others required speed of thought to even turn them into shooting chances. Waist-high volleying with the ball just behind, near-post headers, fast-feet shots from different distances and angles - the bloke would get those sort of chances in the Premiership just as anywhere else. Had he been taking more touches to fashion a goal I might wonder but this bloke is a natural-born predator. And lethal with it.

What they haven't got on there is a collection of his worst misses. I'm assuming there have been some, given that he isn't a world superstar. As I said though, this could be an interesting signing.
