Knighton Matt Posted 31 May 2005 Posted 31 May 2005 True to sheff fox's word, I've made it here to describe why you should save your money fez!Admittedly my pesimism (realism in my own eyes) serves mainly to dampen my own expectations and prepare for another puzzling failure in 11 months, but it does double up as a reasonble prediciton. It will remain to be seen who Hoddle brings in, but they must buy a ball winning midfielder. wolves have far too many flimsy showboaters in the midfield, which is why I was reluctant to be delighted at Rickett's signing. This added to ince's ageing process, cooper's release, and andrew's sale makes for bad news in a division with 46 game of the highest physical nature. Olofinjana Seol and ricketts in the same midfield appears great but is bad news in that league. Secondly, the defence appears stable but that could very easily be changed. An injury to Lescott with our current squad, then craddock going back to his old self, I'd be more concerned with staying in division 1 than getting out of it. This time last year all the talk was of how strong wolves are & how they will only get stronger with the money from a premiership season. they started at 5/1 but ruled themselves out of the playoffs before you threw your christmas tree out. I think a few people lost money on them last year without even coming close to re-gaining it. Anyone has good reason to think wolves could do well, but beware if you're putting well-earned cash on them. Mine will go on norwich I think. 117758 what's happened to kennedy? always thought he looked quality but never hear much about him these days?

Not a fan anymore. I did like him once. He was a very good crosser but he doesn't work at all.
Scow Posted 31 May 2005 Posted 31 May 2005 The fizzy is physical, but the only sure way out is to play football. 117801 I'm sure the likes of West Brom and us of two years ago would disagree with that statement.

On the other hand if he thinks Hoof Ball is the way out of this League then it will be 18 seconds before I ask questions.

Nationwider Posted 31 May 2005 Posted 31 May 2005 In no particular order: Palace, Wolves, Norwich, Ipswich, Preston, Southampton.
Leicesterboi Posted 3 June 2005 Posted 3 June 2005 I don't know what everyone else thinks but next year the standard in the CCC looks like it is going to be much improved. The relagated clubs all have strong squads and teams like Sheff Utd are making good additions to their squad. I think it will be a great achievement to get promoted next year and the target has to be the playoffs. Whose is everyone elses top 6 next year? Here's mine Palace Wolves Norwich Leicester Sheff Utd Ipswich
shimoney maloney Posted 3 June 2005 Posted 3 June 2005 Completely agree with your views Leicesterboi the league is going to be a much higher standard than last year. My tip would be Wolves Norwich Sheffield Utd Soton Crystal Palace Leicester

hinds12 Posted 4 June 2005 Posted 4 June 2005 i agree its good to see the fans are so optimistic. with some of the transfer roumers sounding exciting (except douglas) and the players and manager we have already, i see no reason for us not to be optimistic. 1. Norwich 2. ipswich 3. sheff u (hope i am wrong) 4. southampton 5. leeds 6. leicester <_<
Tommy Posted 5 June 2005 Posted 5 June 2005 1. Norwich - They don't HAVE to get rid of any players to be ready for the new season as stated by the board, so I will expect them to come top 2. Ipswich - Even if Bent and Miller leave, they still have a strong enough side I feel to gain promotion 3. Sheffield United - There always up there or there abouts (except last season ) 4. Southampton - Will have to do what Leeds did last year, in respects of having to ship the squad out, and bring a new one in. 5. Palace - Strong enough squad to do well, even with two of their main playes leaving and Johnson still set to decide over his future. 6. Leicester - I think with the right players we can do well, all we need is to be able to play together. For example look at Sunderland, they didnt have huge names in their squad in abundance but because they had the desire, they did what they set out to achieve. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22. Coventry - Just not good enough, in some respects lucky to stay up this season 23. Hull - With Trundle being the only half decent player linked with them, I feel their squad still isnt up to scratch to compete 24. Brighton - They're crap
C-man Posted 6 June 2005 Posted 6 June 2005 1 - Norwich - Will bounce straight back up, no need for them to offload players 2 - Wolves - Looked very strong in last 20 games this season, better start next time and I think they'll be promoted. 3 - Southampton - If redknapp stays 4 - Ipswich - Either here, or a poor season for the tractor boys no bent and others have gone. 5 - Sheffield Utd - Always strong, Warnock will be mad about this season, will want a huge improvement next year 6 - LEICESTER -

Thracian Posted 11 June 2005 Posted 11 June 2005 It's a bit early for crystal ball-gazing. But, with City tipped by many in this thread for a top six finish I'd ask the question I asked around October last season. Where are the goals coming from? Judged as centre-forwards, Connolly only focused in front of goal when it was too late and MDV, well, what was his goals total?. Manager's should use only one yardstick to judge a striker and that is "how many did he put in the net." If he believes these two are suddenly going to turn themselves into goal machines then he's deluding himself. In his place I'd be focusing on two particular targets... more than doubling the goals tally and taking the word "draw" out of the club's vocabulary. With the defence already looking reasonably capable, then achieving those two things ought to give us a reasonable chance of challenging for top six and that means bringing in at least one quality striker. Wolves will finish top because they'll commit themselves to attack.

And De Vries scored quite a few at Hearts too. Anyway, even if we need another striker at least, we need more goals from around the park. Our wings last season almost never scored, and Williams blew quite a few chances, while Gudjonsson...well you know the rest. Only Nalis actually posed a genuine threat from midfield, and even that was only until Christmas.
