Grove red Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 Swindon Town fan in peace here. What are the chances we could get Steven Howard on loan for the rest of the season, is he injured only I have noticed he hasn't featured much for you this season. He is just the kind of striker we need, experienced, big & strong, heaven knows we need someone like that. Whenever I've seen him he's always been a handfull, our strike force is somewhat lightweight & big Steve would be the ideal man for us, he may not be a prolific scorer but would be the ideal foil for our boys to feed of as I believe there is goals in them but as I said before, we are a bit lightweight up front. Good luck for the rest of the season, I regularly speak to a pub Landlord down here who is a massive Foxes fan, whenever we meet we always have a chat about our respective teams, although I haven't much to say at the moment about our shower of s**t, he's always upbeat about you, I hope you make the play-offs again this time & go those 2 steps further & get to the promised land of the Premier league Grove Red

Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 I think he's injured at the moment, Sven seemed to like using him as an impact sub when a bit of muscle was needed. Can't see him getting a game whilst we have Yak though. I'm certain however that he would be well above average at League One level. Just don't expect any pace!

Although he's unlikely to ever start for us again, he does give us an option for 10mins from the bench & we don't really have cover who could play the role he can, so I think it's unlikely we'd let him go before we can replace him in the summer, we do have an academy player who's made the step up to the 1st team squad, but he's coming back from injury, perhaps he can take Howard's place on the bench allowing him to leave
Corky Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 He's injured at the moment, but I think Sven still has a role for him, and he signed a new contract recently.
Grove red Posted 23 February 2011 Author Posted 23 February 2011 Cheers Guys, with regards to the pace, we have a couple of pacey lads who could play off him, Obika on loan fron Spurs, very quick, quite a big lad but not strong enough to hold up play, Ritchie, a bit of a midget but also very quick & skillful, I can see him playing at Championship level in the near future, wasn't getting a look in at Pompey so we managed to snap him up. Sorry to hear Steve's injured, would be an ideal man for us (if he wanted to come & Sven would let him....Steve :-) ) still thanks for your input, as I said earlier, good luck in your quest for the Prem

Fox1651 Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 Your welcome to him . No in all seriousness he would do the bizzo at your level me thinks
Kent Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 It's not Steven... it's Big Steve or Super Steve.
ScouseFox Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 He was good in league 1 when we were there, got player of the year after scoring a fair few and assisting Fryatt numerous times. He'd still be good in that league I would assume.
LCFCmatt Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 How about taking Logan and Lamey as well? Please!
