SOCCERROO FOX Posted 28 February 2011 Share Posted 28 February 2011 Sorry if this has been done before rules are very simple. You post 6 songs that represent these criteria and a little discription why. 1: Childhood song: First song you can remember hearing as a kid John Farnham: You're the voice - my mum used to be obssesed with him and always play his concerts on vhs and cassete 2. Something that reminds you of home: Whilst your away or want to be reminded of home Gyroscope: Australia - Whilst i was traveling around and felt a little bit down i would play this it would make me feel better remind me of home but make me realise it will always be there. 3. Pump up song: Pretty self explanatory, a song that you use to pump you up for a sporting match or a big night. Hunters and Collectors - Holy Grail - Always be one of my fav songs and always played before AFL grand final and always wish my team could reach the "Holy Grail" 4. Good Times: A song that when you here it brings back memories of a cetain time that makes you smile. Shakia: Waka Waka (This is Africa) - Takes me back to the month i spent in Africa hearing the song whilst on Safari and at the world cup all the time was a brilliant unexplainable experience. 5: Love Song: Your all time fav love song Hunters and Collectors - Throw your arms around me - Just a lovely old love song 6: Final credits: If your life was a movie what would song would be played when the curtain comes down and the credits are rolling. The Wombats: Lets dance to joy division - Never been one to take life too seriously, always look on the bright side of life and can find fun in most things. MikeyT Posted 28 February 2011 Share Posted 28 February 2011 1: Childhood song: First song you can remember hearing as a kid Think it was Bryan Adams - Summer Of '69 in 1984. Have older sisters and they were teens in the 80's so listened to lotsof stuff from that era. 2. Something that reminds you of home: Whilst your away or want to be reminded of home Got to be honest and say i can't think of one like that. I will come back and edit this if i do think of something. 3. Pump up song: Pretty self explanatory, a song that you use to pump you up for a sporting match or a big night. Will get laughed at, but Bon Jovi - Have A Nice Day always gets me pumped up or Alter Bridge - Watch Your Words especially on the 25 sec mark of that song when the riff kicks in. 4. Good Times: A song that when you here it brings back memories of a certain time that makes you smile. People will probably laugh again but not one particular song, but Chicago's Greatest Hits (the band not the show) . Used to visit Padstow in Cornwall most years when i was in my teens with my best mate and his family and remember buying that on cassette and listening to it. Brings back good memories of those holidays. 5: Love Song: Your all time fav love song Possibly Harem Scarem - This Ain't Over. Just very identifiable lyrics and still are. 6: Final credits: If your life was a movie what would song would be played when the curtain comes down and the credits are rolling. Ten Words - Joe Satriani, I love the song or Donovan - Catch The Wind.
StanSP Posted 28 February 2011 Share Posted 28 February 2011 1: Childhood song: First song you can remember hearing as a kid Not 100% sure of this, but I remember being in the car on the way to lower school (maybe Year 1 or 2) and absolutely loving No Mercy - Where Do You Go 2. Something that reminds you of home: Whilst your away or want to be reminded of home Mr Brightside - The Killers Reminds me of being with my mates on the last ever day of school, in the car and as we leave the school premises, this comes on the radio and gets turned up and we're all singing along for the whole song. We've now gone our separate ways (uni) but I know that when we do all see each other again, this song is always bound to get played. 3. Pump up song: Pretty self explanatory, a song that you use to pump you up for a sporting match or a big night. Attack - 30 Seconds To Mars - First song off their second album, A Beautiful Lie. And it's the first song I stick on to psyche me up or get me in the mood for something big. 4. Good Times: A song that when you here it brings back memories of a cetain time that makes you smile. When You Were Young - The Killers - Reminds me what I believed to be my first love. I know some couples have their own song which they listen to and which just clicks for them . Anyway, this one was ours and for the summer that I was with her this song just made us both happy when we listened to it. 5: Love Song: Your all time fav love song Your Guardian Angel - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - The lyrics 'I will never let you fall, I'll stand up with you forever, I'll be there for you through it all, even if saving you sends me to heaven.' Says it all really. 6: Final credits: If your life was a movie what would song would be played when the curtain comes down and the credits are rolling. Time of Your Life (Good Riddance) - Green Day - For me it'd just be the perfect song to end my life and send me away in to the next one. 'It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right, I hope you had the time of you life'. It's actually written about Billie Joe's divorce, but the lyrics are so fitting for the end of someone's life. In the end we all have to and all will die, but we all know and wish that we did what we wanted and hope we enjoyed our life.

The Doctor Posted 28 February 2011 Share Posted 28 February 2011 1: Childhood song: First song you can remember hearing as a kid Foo Fighters - All My Life used to shuffle through my dads cd collection and stick a random CD on. 2. Something that reminds you of home: Whilst your away or want to be reminded of home None that remind me of home but Royal Scots Guards - Highland Cathedral always reminds me of my family. (posted a video as i doubt many have heard this before) 3. Pump up song: Pretty self explanatory, a song that you use to pump you up for a sporting match or a big night. Kasabian - Vlad The Impaler - no idea why but something about the beat in paticular gets me going. 4. Good Times: A song that when you hear it brings back memories of a cetain time that makes you smile. None that bring back memories but i can count on U2 - Magnificent to get me smiling. 5: Love Song: Your all time fav love song Glasvegas - Flowers and Football Tops - an incredibly moving song which can easily reduce me to tears. 6: Final credits: If your life was a movie what would song would be played when the curtain comes down and the credits are rolling. The Hours - Ali In The Jungle - the lyrics "It's not how you start, it's how you finish. And it's not where you're from, it's where you're at. Everybody gets knocked down, everybody gets knocked down. How quick are you gonna get up?" pretty much sum me up ( i think), all about battling on no matter what. Also valid for a pump-up song. Starkwell Posted 28 February 2011 Share Posted 28 February 2011 1: Childhood song: First song you can remember hearing as a kid Lola - The kinks - 2. Something that reminds you of home: Whilst your away or want to be reminded of home Been Caught Stealing - Jane's addiction (because of The Fan Club) 3. Pump up song: Pretty self explanatory, a song that you use to pump you up for a sporting match or a big night. Springsteen - Born to Run (when the final verse comes back in after the count) 4. Good Times: A song that when you here it brings back memories of a cetain time that makes you smile. Don't let me down (gently) . The wonderstuff (having fun and getting drunk in my late teens) 5: Love Song: Your all time fav love song I've Got a Feeling I'm Falling - Gene Austin (beautiful and heartbreaking) 6: Final credits: If your life was a movie what would song would be played when the curtain comes down and the credits are rolling. ajthefox Posted 28 February 2011 Share Posted 28 February 2011 1: Childhood song: First song you can remember hearing as a kid I've genuinely got no idea what I can remember earliest if that makes sense. 2. Something that reminds you of home: Whilst your away or want to be reminded of home My Town by Armor For Sleep. I'm sure I don't need to explain this. 3. Pump up song: Pretty self explanatory, a song that you use to pump you up for a sporting match or a big night. Can't really say I actually have one, but Last Train Home by Lostprophets is a song that'll get me going. 4. Good Times: A song that when you here it brings back memories of a cetain time that makes you smile. hmmmm. Mr Brightside by the Killers. Just love the song, it's one of my favourite ever songs and just puts me in a good mood, doesn't bring back anything in particular. Plus I think everyone knows it too so it's just a really big anthem everyone can sing to. 5: Love Song: Your all time fav love song A Day Late by Anberlin. This is my favourite but it's about having missed out on a love that could've been, so it's not quite the best love song as such, just the best song about love. 6: Final credits: If your life was a movie what would song would be played when the curtain comes down and the credits are rolling. Probably Lupe Fiasco, The Show goes on. The sentiment is all about persevering and getting on with life no matter what anyone says, hence "the show goes on" and it's quite inspiring for me. The last line below in my sig is the most appropriate of the whole song I think.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 February 2011 Share Posted 28 February 2011 1: Childhood song: Bruce Springsteen - The Streets of Philadelphia (Dad used to rape Springsteen in the old Escort as a yoot.) 2. Something that reminds you of home: The Strokes - Someday (Reminds me of school, Leicester, friends etc.) 3. Pump up song: The Stone Roses - This Is The One (One of the best songs ever put together.) 4. Good Times: Oasis - Slide Away (Last time all me and my mates were together as a massive group before everyone had to bugger off for university / left college, had a shindig. Big gathering of people that knew this song, over rides anything for me. One of those moments when you're wasted, and you know you need to make the most of that second because everything's about to change.) 5: Love Song: Placebo - I Do ( ) OR Glassjaw - Her Middle Name was Boom 6: Final credits: Jimi Hendrix - Castles Made Of Sand (One of my all time favourite songs that'll be taken with me as something I heard as a child, it'll hopefully be the song I hear as I'm passing away.) Finnegan Posted 1 March 2011 Share Posted 1 March 2011 1: Childhood song: Traveling Wilburys - Not Alone Anymore - If I thought long and hard, it probably wouldn't be the earliest song I can remember but it's probably one of them. We used to make compilation tapes for the car before holidays and my old man used to always have some Traveling Wilburys on there. He'd always belt this out, shockingly out of tune. 2. Something that reminds you of home: . 3. Pump up song: Teddybears STHLM - Cobrastyle. - I find it literally impossible to sit still listening to this song. This song = party. 4. Good Times: - Takes me back to freshers year. A year later one of my closer uni mates and I went to see them at 93 Feet East in London, one of the best gigs of my life. Stunning.5: Love Song: Stellastarr - My Coco - bit corny, was one of those "it's our song!" moments with one of my first serious girlfriends. Still a proper choon. 6: Final credits: - Just one of the coolest songs of all time, by one of the coolest bands of all time.
