I get a little nervous around gays. Can't help it. Have been working with a lad for a few months who is. It's the thought of what he does/has done behind closed doors with other gays which makes me cringe/shudder.....but it's same cringe/shudder I get when I think about drinking whiskey. That;s how it became taboo in the first place though, because it was being kept secret and just being tucked away as if it shouldn't be said at all . If anything, the more people that do come out and announce their homosexuality or bisexuality, then it will become less of a taboo.

But at the end of the day, when people make a statement like that, surely it is contradictory? 'Cause when someone 'comes out', then it it blown up into the proportions which are ridiculous. In the age which we are in, there are more and more homosexuals around, therefore making a deal out of being gay is singling them out. If they didn't want people to be anti-homo, then they should just keep it to themselves without getting everyone involved, it just makes people have arguments about it. And no. I am not bent.

I think it became taboo because people gay-bashed and picked on gays and/or the old fashioned marriage and kids was pushed on everyone by the church and that. I don't think this is the case anymore. I'm not saying keep it a secret but just less dramatics would be nice.

And he wasn't being homophobic he said he would feel uncomfortable showering with a gay man, i know he is hardly going to go up to Mack in the shower and start slapping his cock about but that is his personal preference and views and you have to respect that. I have a gay cousin and sometimes i feel a bit uncomfortable around him but i'm not scared of him or of any homosexuals and i doubt Mack goes around around Leicester avoiding anyone which looks a bit camp either, some people just aren't comfortable around them and aren't sure how to act around them in case they offend them.
