Finnegan Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 I'd forgotten that - made me giggle. Though I'm still not convinced TommyG's quite as tall as he claims to be... either that or I'd suddenly grown by several inches that day. He's not much taller than me, if he is taller than me, I don't think. It's just I weigh about nine stone and he's built like a brick shit house. It's a good job I don't take myself especially seriously because that was pretty embarrassing, I thought I might catch him off balance and I ended up going flying.

You could re phrase your last sentence, unless you have something to come out about!!!
Fosse Boy Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 People in society are always on about gay people being singled out and painted to be these people who everyone objects to. But at the end of the day, when people make a statement like that, surely it is contradictory? 'Cause when someone 'comes out', then it it blown up into the proportions which are ridiculous. In the age which we are in, there are more and more homosexuals around, therefore making a deal out of being gay is singling them out. If they didn't want people to be anti-homo, then they should just keep it to themselves without getting everyone involved, it just makes people have arguments about it. And no. I am not bent. Well, for a gay person, revealing a previously unknown part of their identity to the world is probably a pretty daunting thing even in this day and age - especially when you happen to ply your trade in such a macho arena as professional sport. I'd imagine it's also a pretty big relief to actually be able to be open and honest with everyone about it so you can just get on with your life. That's why Steven Davies didn't "just keep it to himself".
CKB Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Fair play to him i say! Now on to important matters, it's clear as daylight that Sosban and Jackirius have some hidden gay sexual tension, so what better thread for them to just get it on??

That's why Steven Davies didn't "just keep it to himself". And i agree with what you are saying. But when you say , 'it's a pretty big relief' that is down to society and there perception of gay people. If we were in a world of acceptance, then everyone would not care, be it if you are gay or straight. It's this big thing what is brought over it. He is gay, i just think it should not be blown up into a massive ordeal because he likes the same sex. I suppose it is different for him, because he is in the public eye, but for the general public, who cares if you are gay? One day it will be seen as the same as being straight. I can also bet that Davies will have a lot more respect now. A rugby ref 'came out' a few years back, and he gained a lot more moral respect. I just think sometimes the controversy surrounding being gay is to blown up. At the end of the day, people should just categorize and not put people into how they can be treated because they are straight or gay.
Fosse Boy Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 I don't disagree with you, but like I say his coming out is significant because of his profession and the fact that it's so rare for someone in his position to do so. If he were a butcher, a baker or a candlestick maker we wouldn't be batting an eyelid. But he's an international cricketer, so we do.
Bert Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Quite a few of us have met each other, including Tommy G and I (I foolishly tried to shoulder barge him in a 50/50 and ended up straight on my arse, the boy is a complete rock ) Like me and Smuts. I think I found some of his skin on St Maragarets Pastures last week.
Unit Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Looks like someones trapped in the closet to me. Was thinking the exact same thing. No doubt I'm going to be called names as usual, but if I was in that dressing room I would not feel comfortable, showering, changing etc etc with a gay man present checking out my package etc. What a stupid thing to say, if you think that everyone you've ever got changed with whether it be at the gym, at school etc is straight then you're a ****ing idiot.
Finnegan Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Like me and Smuts. I think I found some of his skin on St Maragarets Pastures last week. that was barbaric. But funny. Those games were all good fun to be fair.
Bert Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 that was barbaric. But funny. Those games were all good fun to be fair. Not only was it barbaric, but it was a great ball winning challenge from a centre forward.
cambridgefox Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 me and my mates were forever getting our old fellers out wacking them on tables laughing at each others in showers, but hey we were not normal, what im trying to say is,people need to relax more it is just a part of the body.We had two gay blokes that played rugby one of which came out after several years,he was a friend,we knew him for years exactly like Steven Davies team mates. We didnt suddenly get all nervy around him, infact one of my catchphrases"its like a penis only smaller"might have been aimed at him. Infact perhaps the whole team were gay,i can remember us all wrestling in the big baths trying to grab soap and shock horror with two gays in the there.
Finnegan Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 Not only was it barbaric, but it was a great ball winning challenge from a centre forward. . Not exactly "great" in the letter of the law though Bert.
Bert Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 . Not exactly "great" in the letter of the law though Bert. GOT THE BALL FIRST!
Finnegan Posted 28 February 2011 Posted 28 February 2011 GOT THE BALL FIRST! I think Karl's been arguing otherwise since. His legs certainly weren't impressed.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 OhhhFinnegan please pick me as your fwend. Ouch. Fine have a gander at the old man while I'm showering, I don't really care. Admire/laugh whichever it may be, so what. I know I'd be checking the ladies if I was lucky enough to be in changing room full of women. As long as he doesn't come on to me I don't really care, and why would he, as people have said before he's a gay man, not a sex maniac for anything with a cock and a pulse. Every part of this post made me SEX MANIAC
Finnegan Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 I never really picked MTWG as my friend. Hell fell in to my life, destined to be my civil partner. We had a Hibs themed wedding and there were BVB balloons at the reception.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 I've been in communial showers with females i was more intrested in making sure there was hot water so my dick didn't shrivel up in the cold and also not get caught perving so i didn't get a hard on. All in all a weirdly funny experience, we were all adults so it was a bit of a non issue (it was that or not shower at all). even got made to try some fruity smelling shampoo God i miss Africa

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 March 2011 Posted 1 March 2011 The last line of that has got me having a fit of laughter. Well in saying that if a local fella walked in waving his 22inch member around like a baseball bat i would of bowed my head in shame and walked off.
